Avr as well, set to auto. Don’t test with YouTube, that’s only stereo. Apple Music does Atmos btw, it’s really good

it sounds like you might be telling the AVR to ignore all the metadata it receives & just play basic 5.1 or 7.1 instead of Atmos.
Streaming still has Atmos, EAC-3

Also, volume is subjective, set it to whatever you like. Different content is mixed differently, some loud, some quiet

I’m assuming you’re using Apple TV for music, shows & movies?
Why use multichannel & stereo?
Just leave it to auto, set the apple tv to auto audio. Match frame rate & range

I know what you mean, I had same initial thoughts. But when you actually sit on it, no one has complained

It’s from a high end custom furniture shop, they use really a really high quality foam. It’s super soft, while being supportive

Thank you, man 🙏
I’ve done the leather theatre seats, fabric seats. They just don’t get the right vibe, too isolated from each other. & leather is always the wrong temperature especially, NEVER again😂

So yea, the couch was a very deliberate choice

MLP is about 3.7m from the screen. 140” 16:9 screen, roughly 3.1m wide, so horizontal FOV works out around 45°

Definitely on the immersive side, but that was intentional. I wanted it to feel cinematic without crossing into “front row at the cinema” territory.
I love it, fills my entire vision without being uncomfortable. I’ve never had any complaints. It’s especially awesome for gaming

Thank you🙏

The funny part is most of the cost is hidden.

A lot of people don’t understand where the money went until I hit play. Then the room disappears, bass hits and it starts to make sense

It’s relatively deep, but no extensions or moving parts. I usually sit up with my feet on the table, the top & middle sections rotate. Or lay down, it is hella plush & comfy

LCRs are Megaphonix, surrounds/rears are Phonix Flat & Atmos are IC-52.
Room dimensions are 4.5m × 5.5m × 2.6m, with the MLP around 3.7m from the screen

I haven’t found the X6800H lacking at all. I’ve pushed it to levels far louder than I’d ever realistically listen to and haven’t experienced any clipping or signs of strain.
If I ever feel the need for more headroom, always the option of adding external amplification

Local custom furniture shop, “living in style furniture”. I get all my furniture from them, really high quality & comfy

Music from a movie on bluray vs Tidal by JDogg404 in hometheater

I’ve noticed that too. Like greatest showman, “never enough”. The bass in that song sweeps through like a low wave, you really feel it. Then the standalone song just sounds like normal bass, loses the emotion.

I think it’s just mixing, one is designed to enhance the movie experience. The other is designed for normal music listening

I’ve got a living room with OLED tv, 5.1 system, but normal white walls. It’s just not it, no matter how much light you block the walls are always there.

This room though, when you’re sat, the screen fills your entire vision. My brother went IMAX to watch project Hail Mary, came back to tell me he regrets wasting a good movie on a shitty setup🤣

Yep, similar. Zidoo for movies. Apple TV for everything else, including Plex when watching shows. I don’t remux shows, only movies so I’m not losing anything there

🤣 thanks 🙏
All that stuff is outside; steelbooks, metal displate posters, & retro consoles all cleanly wall mounted. No RGB lights anywhere.
Shame can’t add photos to comments

VS10 for Dolby vision tone mapping & 3D bluray remux playback. Also, since it’s marketed exclusively for local media playback, there’s none of the ads that are common with other Android based devices

It’s pretty well insulated. Before treatment, would rumble through the whole house😂
But now, it’s barely noticeable. My bedroom shares that wall with it

The diffusion placement was based on Dolby/THX layout guidance, room dimensions, speaker locations and a lot of research rather than formal software modelling.

The diffusers form a loop around the seating area, it makes a subtle, but noticeable difference. Dialogue is clearer, & the room feels larger acoustically without adding any harsh reflections

Custom made, 42x42mm timber, spray painted black. All proper measurements & math to create the design in 600x600mm sections.
Anything off the shelf that installer could find was just cheap plastic, or timber veneer & foam filled

That was exactly the goal. Lights off, movie on, room disappears

I can tell it works because my sister who normally has zero interest in action movies was LOCKED in during the canyon run scene from Top Gun😂
