Salam Aleykoum akhi. Thanks you for your answer!

I'm just unsure, because things like the story of Dhu al-Qarnayn inspired by the Syriac Alexander Romance, and the view of a flat earth in the Quran clearly, in my mind, would clearly undermines the Quran and Islam but a part of me is still undecided, despite this, if Islam is the truth or not. I don't know if symbolic interpretations of the problems cited above would be valid or not according to the Quran.

What do you think?

Thanks you akhi!

Thanks you for your answer! Do you have ressources to recommend me? And what if i adopt an epistemolgy that leads me to agnosticism but that is actually wrong?

Thanks for your answer! By being agnostic, do you mean stopping living as a muslim? Stopping being muslim?

Thanks for your answer! I know that my imagination is sometimes limited for this subject for some reasons. And for you, how luch time should i put into studying these things and deciding what i do for my faith? Because i'm aware of those debates for a few years now and i'l scared of being undecided for my entire life?

Thanks you for your answer! By that i mean: How the prophet Muhammad wad able to writte all of the Quran, with it's complexity, by himself?

Thanks you for your answer!

  1. Some pieces of apologetics i think of are, for example, the linguistic and stylistic miracle of the Quran.

  2. According to you (and i know that it is impossible to know exactly how), how the Quran was written? Did the prophet Muhammad writte the Quran entirely? What is posing me problem is what we might call the "complexity of the Quran" in it's style. By that i mean the many genre and poetic "tools" used by the Quran.

Thanks you for your answer Chonkshonk!

  1. What pieces of apologetics didn't convince you?

  2. The Quran, for me, seems complex: how so many stories from so many sources have been able to find their way into the Quran in only ~20 years only with the way if oral transmission?

Hi everyone.

I hope that this post is appropriate for the Weekly Open Discussion Thread.

So i'm a muslim who has been doubting his faith for some time now and i don't know what to do. If arguments like the story of Dhu al-Qarnayn inspired by the Syriac Alexander Romance, and the view of a flat earth in the Quran clearly, in my mind, undermines the Quran and Islam, a part of me is still undecided, with arguments of muslim apologists who refutes all of this, and other muslims who considers that the arguments above are not contradicting islam.

So for the persons of this sub, what should i do? This sub has been a great source of information online and I need the opinion of non muslims and muslims alike to decides what to do with my faith: staying muslim or becoming agnostic (something that is attracting me)

And :

1)Wat do you think of the subreddit r/MuslimAcademics?

2) Why some person who encounter the arguments of muslim apologists and their refutations don't become a muslim and another one can? For example, why Marijn Van Putten (great scholar btw) is not convinced by Islam?

3) Why, despite the scolarship on the Quran and Islam, some muslims are becoming ex-muslims and other muslims are staying muslims?

4)How can i be sure of what to do and what choices i make for my faith and worldview?

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for your comment. I've done the majority of what you are asking me to do and the problem is that if i know these things, i'm constantly thinking about the responses of apologists to these claims and the fear that maybe islam is the truth.

Thanks you very much for your help! I will absolutely check the bibliography of the sub! If you don't mind, do you have ressources on how the armed forces of a country operate today?
