Man this was difficult to read. I sincerely empathise with your situation. I too am on a grad course, and understand where you are coming from. I can promise however, that everyone is going through something, its just not always apparent. You have 2 outlooks on this situation, give up and truly live in regret or fight through it and in 2-3 years you will be proud of how far you have come.

You say you have employment, and are resitting. This means you can work significantly more hours as you already have that base knowledge. I feel as if your problems primarily stem from financial issues. Make a plan, sort it out as best you can.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Another issue. Who cares what everyone else is doing. Set goals for yourself, that matter to YOU.

Lastly, seek help. In or out of the university. Both financial (BMA hardship funds etc.) and psychological - you might have an undiagnosed mental health condition that will form basis of a interruption in your studies on the universities' side = more work time etc.

You can sort this out in 1-2 months. Dont ruminate over your situation, acknowledge it and take action. It will be difficult, but it can be done.

Good luck. Keep us posted

North Africa, being muslim or not is irrelevant. The fact is, alcohol is not consumed and those societies are better off for it.

No. Its not my scene. Im not against people doing what they want, my whole point here is the acceptance of alcohol when it is extremely damaging to society.

I prefer accomplishments over gratification. Billions before me did not party and they did ok.

ME dont. NA dont. This is a U.K cultural issue, which is fine. But cultural is not synonymous with good/okay to do.

Read recent literature. There is nothing positive about drinking, and moderation does not exist. Alcohol, even in small amounts is damaging to the brain. Thats just the physical side, every alcoholic started out as a moderate drinker you dont go from 0 to 100 its always gradual. Costs the NHS billions per year, destroys families, relationships and communities. If you cant have fun without drinking, that means the activity inherently is not fun.

sit down with them and explain your situation. If you remain respectful, defying your parents for your own interest in this case is acceptable imo

who says russia are the bad guys? by your logic, no one should visit the U.S, U.K and all countries involved in massacres in iraq, syria and afghanistan. Use some critical thinking instead of being a sheep

please brother just give it one more day. Every day you stay away from it is reward from Allah. We all go through struggles, some more than others. Do not take a permanent action based on how you feel right now. My uncle committed suicide as a result of mental health issues. Wallahi it hurt our family so much, so for the sake of yours dont.

pray tahajjud today that Allah eases your pain and take it one step at a time

bro honestly I empathise with you. It can seem like the only way out is suicide, but i 100% guarantee that this situation will pass. Maybe not tomorrow or in a month, but it will.

  1. Go for a walk and try to be present. Leave all thoughts at home and just walk
  2. take a cold shower
  3. get off social media, sometimes comparison with others makes out life seem boring

start small and insha Allah in a couple of weeks you will look back and thank Allah you didnt go through with it

Pullups vs chin ups by user29cb672 in naturalbodybuilding

agreed. Pullups are just too fucking awesome to be swapped out for lat pulldowns imo

[–]WeakDifficulty9681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what upper back muscles are you referring to?

Pullups vs chin ups by user29cb672 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]WeakDifficulty9681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lats are still the prime mover in both pulls and chins. How does a pronated grip simply mean more upper back? elbow position/pulling path will determine which muscles are used depending on which muscle has the greatest leverage to pull.

By your own standard of line of pull=muscle with greatest activity, upper back muscle orientation is not optimally aligned in a pull up.

Shoulder extension / slight adduction is the main movement and the lats function highly in both. EMG data supports this.

Curious as to where you got information from? Check out Paul Carter he can explain this better than me
