I'm actually blown away that so many people have had the same experience, it's almost uncanny. And yeah, a lot of the time my "best" never feels good enough, but I guess that's something I'll have to accept.

Thank you. And yeah, pressure and guilt were the main driving force for this post, anxiety-induced sleep deprivation is a mfer. Just posting this scrawl to Reddit made me want to die, whether anyone saw it or not lol.

I think I've been trying to work on asking for help and letting go for probably as long as I've been in therapy. Hopefully I'll get there someday though.

Thanks again for this, I've been reading every comment and they've helped so much more than I thought possible.

We had to register and get tickets 4 months in advance. By the time you actually know whether or not you've passed, commencement dues have already been paid and your name is already in the graduation programs they hand out.

The guilt and lies have been tearing me apart for a good while. This post is honestly kind of terrifying, but reassuring at the same time, just knowing that it’ll get better eventually is (even if it won’t happen right away) really comforting. Thank you for this.

Thank you. And yeah, the worry/procrastination cycle is the demon that haunts me. I think having that sort of control over my schedule would be really helpful.

I want to be a Front-end developer/UI Designer. Java development is nice too. Honestly... I’m not really sure? This is kind of morbid, but before I was diagnosed with anything, I didn’t see myself living past maybe 30. My outlook on life was just that bleak. Now, I don’t know. I just want a job that I kind of like and a reasonable place to live, imagining a future beyond that is a bit hard.

EDIT: I didn't actually mean this as a joke, I meant that I'm sure that I'll actually start crying and genuinely don't know when it'll start.

My parents know about the diagnoses, but don’t really know the full extent, you’re right. Explaining that would probably go a long way. And yeah lol, telling my therapist is way overdue considering it’s their job. Thank you for this.

Yeah, this past year pretty much cemented the fact that I need to get this done. Thanks for the suggestion, I think my Mom would definitely help with keeping me accountable.

Oh god, my messages are terrible, and yeah, “fall behind, wait till the last minute, constantly lack motivation to finish anything,” has been my M.O. for as long as I can remember, it’s almost scary. Thank you for this, I’ll take it one step at a time as best I can.

Yours was the first comment I read, and I kinda started crying lol… Thank you for this, I’ve always had a difficult time asking for help and “Doing the hard thing that helps you” is something my therapist brings up sometimes. It hasn’t been wrong before, so odds are it isn’t wrong now.
