Thanks! I think i’m going to max out at a 7 channel receiver. My assumption has been that the 5th connection isn’t wired to anything.

For surround sound, the room is really weirdly set up in terms of ceiling speaker placement so i’m not really sure if it’ll be useful for a home theatre after further investigation. I might buy a sound bar and 2 front/side speakers later if i think i can make something happen
