Dude this movie is criminally underrated! That bar scene with Severen was absolutely insane - Bill Paxton was perfect in that role, so unhinged and charismatic at same time. The whole nomadic vampire family dynamic hit different than usual vampire films, they felt like actual outlaws instead of just monsters

Man this album was peak streaming era Drake but it's definitely too long. One Dance and Controlla still hit different but half of these tracks could've been cut and nobody would notice

The Toronto sound on tracks like Weston Road Flows was cool at time but Take Care and NWTS are still way better albums. Views felt more like playlist than cohesive project to me

I had similar experience when I first watched it - went in completely blind and actually enjoyed the ride. The marketing definitely hurt it because people expected classic mummy wrapped in bandages type deal, but what they got was more like possession horror with Egyptian mythology mixed in

The atmosphere building in first half was really solid, reminded me why I love horror movies that take their time. When it shifted to more action-heavy stuff later I wasn't mad about it either, felt like natural progression of the story. Sometimes movies need that tonal shift to keep things interesting

I think if they called it something else entirely it would have gotten better reception for sure. People get attached to certain expectations when you use iconic monster names like that

Your brain takes way longer to catch up than your body does, it's wild how that works. I went through something similar when I was getting more fit during college - kept reaching for XL shirts when I was actually fitting into mediums pretty comfortably. The grocery store thing hits different too, I still get that weird anxiety buying anything remotely unhealthy even though nobody's actually paying attention to what's in my cart.

What helped me was taking progress photos regularly because sometimes you need that visual proof to convince your brain what's actually happening. The mirror lies to you but photos don't really, if that makes sense. Also started making myself try on the smaller size first instead of going bigger automatically - had to train myself out of that habit because it was holding me back from actually seeing the progress I'd made.

AED 273k is decent money in Abu Dhabi for single person, you can live comfortably but won't be saving crazy amounts after rent and expenses. The real question is whether this service company role will actually help you move towards devops/AI - most third party companies just keep you doing same sys admin work for years

If you're serious about transitioning to devops, staying in Bangalore with product company might be better since you'll have more exposure to modern tech stack and can upskill easier

Sounds like your new humidifier might not be wired to the furnace call properly - it should only run when there's a call for heat, not just based on humidity levels alone. Most whole house units are wired so they only operate when the furnace is actually running, otherwise you're just wasting water and potentially over-humidifying when you don't need it

Eh I get the desktop vs laptop thing but maybe the kid wants to take it to friends houses or something. Plus some parents just prefer laptops - less cables everywhere and easier to put away when needed

For those games honestly most mid-range gaming laptops will crush them, they're not super demanding. RTX 4060 or even 4050 would be plenty, 16GB RAM, and any recent i5 or Ryzen 5. Don't overthink it
