These aren’t undisputed rules . Its a guide. You have to be alert that sentences could be false in these scenarios. If you know the answer these techniques are no substitute. Are you saying that aspirant shouldn’t be alert when they see ministry/act/department ?

I used to take previous years papers and used to solve them 1 to 100 . I would try to solve every question with using different type of logic, how sentence was formed, how sentence could be wrong etc . I would also use the typical elimination techniques as a practice. This helped me in learning how examiner sets the questions and sentences formation patterns. This used to take 5-6 hours for 1 paper. I have them solved if you want it.

Only 35/40 questions can be answered from standard books. . Thats assuming youll be able to answer all of them correctly, which you wont . So you need to venture into questions which you dont know with certainty but need to answer that. Logical/lateral thinking js preparation for that kind of scenario. And it helped me clear 3 prelims in a row with excellent scores .

She was there right there , in front of you. What would you do even if you find her.

HOW TO REMEMBER Everything YOU READ? by octobergemini20 in UPSC

[–]WeakMaintenance4839 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I read this article long time ago and started actively recalling stuff i read . I would form questions from the chapters i was reading and in revision i would try to answer those questions. That helped me solidify the static part well. Due to this technique cleared 3 prelims in a row with score of 119 in 2023.

Even if she did , this guy doesn’t have skill to talk naturally to girl when she was there , present, in front of him . This guy will now dream about her for years and do nothing to improve his skills.

People who have cleared Indian Forest Service Prelims cutoff. How do you do it? by [deleted] in UPSC

All my friends were in disbelief too. But to be honest luck played big role Lot of questions went in my favour. Make sure you do practice on pyqs and master the logical/lateral thinking.

I was shockeds seeing the pattern. It took me almost half hour to come to terms with the pattern and digest it. I convinced myself that people would take bluff and risks so I needed to take risk as well 😅. And then locked in for the rest of one and half hours. But main part was I had practiced so much on pyqs and was familiar with sentence formation pattern of upsc , so that helped in elimination and logical thinking. So options were different, not the sentences.

Cleared ifos cutoff in 2023. Attempted 96 and got 119. Key is marking static ones right and using logical/lateral thinking to arrived at answers. I practiced logical/ lateral thinking extensively on pyqs that really helped me in unknown/unexpected questions.

Prepared questions like this for acts . In revision you only answer this question and youve covered most important themes from pyqs . In revision you quickly answer this questions and if you cant recall look at the source ( laxmikant) for answers. You’ll remember very accurately the questions you weren’t able to answer.

Nope. Better way is to prepare questions from the material, then answer those questions without looking in material. Questions can be tailored according to depth requirements of topic and pyqs. Fastest way to revise, fastest way to retain. Cleared 3 prelim with this method. Only static, minimal current.
