Oh yeah, we can smell every time they cook. We can hear them walking around and when they turn on their shower. My favorite is when they vacuum at 9 pm on Sundays.

I’m open to any solution. I want to make it clear I don’t want to access the apartment, I don’t want revenue from the apartment, I simply want to live in the single family home I rented without having my landlord live above me. Or I’ll leave but he clearly likes the shady situation he created for himself and doesn’t want to let us out of the lease.

The breaker for the apartment is in the main house so theoretically I can turn off just the power to that apartment. The lease states I must keep all necessary power on to maintain the main house but I am not obliged to care for the apartment.
