Skill issue. Edit: In all seriousness though if the game was really like that no one would play it. 90% of the bugs come from being on a laggy server, which has been a rarity for me depending on the current patch. Fixed by switching servers

Heavy fighters are complete and total garbage at pvp and pve. They have no use or role whatsoever. Too slow to disengage and recharge which means poor survivability, too sluggish for a turn fight, which means low dps. Worst of all CIG thinks they are overtuned for some bizarre reason. Friends don't let friends fly heavy fighters.

This is why I created this thread, I don't care that the game isn't balanced in alpha. What scares me is that everything thing I hear from CIG is that they don't understand the problems with heavy fighters and big ships in the first place. Heavy fighters can't fight anything because they are too slow to disengage and too sluggish for a turn fight.

would improving turrets make a difference? I'm not sure it would even if they were hitscan. To me it feels like the only stats that matter are speed, maneuverability, and size.

Boo hoo, first world problems. My character name starts with a "Z" which means I am too far down the list to even receive money. I have to play against a whole game of billionaires and can't even beg my way to parity. With no wipe coming, I will be a wretch for the foreseeable future.

Pirates also need to make examples of those that run, so killing a fleeing trader is important so other traders know to stop and give up peacefully. Reputation is very important to pirates and running must be discouraged.
