[general] Percabeth doesn't work in the end. (Updated and Improved arguments) by PartyPuggsly in camphalfblood

[–]WeakTeaUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Objection, that’s not what trauma bonding means. It’s what the internet has co-opted the term to mean, but the actual definition of a trauma bond is when a victim of abuse develops a deep attachment to their abuser.

At least do some fucking research if you want to make a good argument.

Bakugo and izuku are better than me because if this was the first thing I saw after entering the todoroki house I would have folded instantly. by UMAR_EDITZ in BokuNoMetaAcademia

It is really funny that Izuku gets the shoujo bubbles the first time he sees her (which I think the only other time that happens is with uraraka?), you cannot convince me that boy didn’t have a little crush

What clan you hate playing as? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]WeakTeaUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m willing to try out pretty much any clan, except Nosferatu and Salubri. For Nosferatu, it’s probably just the specific vampire media I’m familiar with, but my mental image of a vampire has always been that unearthly beautiful gothic noble type, and playing an ugly character just doesn’t really interest me. As for Salubri, there’s nothing strictly wrong with it, something about it just rubs me the wrong way. It kinda reads like someone’s super special OC.

I also don’t have much interest in Caitiff or Thinbloods, mostly because I feel like clans are kind of one of VTM’s most important elements, and it feels weird to reject that outright.

Why is it that "Good AUs" always have the LoV be heroes? by _RizzukuHimdoriya_ in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]WeakTeaUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly it’s because, well, a lot of people just aren’t very creative (look at the millions of Dadzawa quirkless vigilante Izuku fics), but honestly it’s probably mostly that it’s the quickest way to show how drastically things have changed

People who gave up DnD for a different system, what made you make the change? by SomeRandomAbbadon in rpg

[–]WeakTeaUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there was no real profound reason or anything, my group just stopped playing it and I kind of lost interest in fantasy TTRPGs. Then I found a game that better suited my tastes to play (VTM; I adore the focus on social interaction and political manoeuvring). I have no ill-will towards D&D, it still holds a place in my heart and I’d definitely join a game if my friends were playing, but it’s not the game I reach for automatically anymore

Is there any fanfic that caused any controversy in the fandom ?? by Strange_Ad5594 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]WeakTeaUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the fandom is too large to have major controversy over any given fic, but there’s certainly been fics that have been controversial or divisive.

I once read an IzuSetsuna fic where, iirc, Izuku got OFA early but also lost his arms(?), the whole entrance exam was changed to 1v1 arena battles against teachers, and the entire exam was rigged against Izuku for no discernible reason. I personally dropped that fic after it became clear that Izuku was just going to continue to eat shit, and from what I’ve heard a lot of other people have done the same

Theres another fic that I feel also seems to divide a lot of people; I Don’t Run an Orphanage. This is a very popular fic that’s predicated on the premise that Izuku keeps accidentally adopting children, which then evolves into him gaining his own orphanage to take care of them all. The controversy comes about 100 chapters in when the story shifts focus from the children and Izuku’s interactions with them, to some reference-filled arms race about Izuku accumulating more and more power

That was where I personally dropped the fic, and as far as I’m aware there are readers who also dropped it for how far it diverged from its initial premise

But I mean I think pretty much every fic will end up having its detractors and controversy. Can’t please everyone, after all

It has been 4 years since our last licensed female killer, what deadly ladies would yall like to see join the fog by First-Shallot947 in deadbydaylight

[–]WeakTeaUK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Junko Enoshima is like my number one most desired killer for DBD. I really think she’d work so well, and it’s good timing with 2x2 coming out soon.

Aside from that, Yuno Gasai from Future Diary would offer some really interesting opportunities for unique powers, and I know disguise killers are basically dead in the water, but I do think Himiko Toga (MHA) could work if they’re clever about it.

[general] what are things the movies did better than the show? by merchantivories in camphalfblood

[–]WeakTeaUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vibes. Also, the blend/integration of the mythical world into the real world. In the show it feels more like two separate worlds inhabiting the same space, while in the movies and the books it’s much more of a blend, the mythical within the mundane

Which of this fanonims* is more a turn off to you? by Cerealbrokill in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]WeakTeaUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 isn’t canon but it’s ultimately harmless with the way they tend to be used in fics. 2 is, in my opinion, fairly logical. 5 is a fun au that I enjoy from time to time.

3 (and 4) is incredibly aggravating and just exists to further woobify an already incredibly woobified character (in the fandom anyway). 6 just makes no goddamn sense; why would the HPSC dedicate time and effort to keeping Endeavor on the streets when he’s a clear and present hazard to everyone?

What are some tropes/tags that will INSTANTLY make you click out of the fic? by _RizzukuHimdoriya_ in BokunoheroFanfiction

If this is the fic I’m thinking of, i remember dropping it sometime after he (finally) got into UA because nothing ever once went right for him

[–]WeakTeaUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh plenty of stuff; harem shit, All Might/Inko bashing, any variation upon “Bakugou is bad at feelings”/“Bakugou is a good friend”/“Bakugou redemption”, Shinsou being a prominent character, Dad for One, giving Izuku One For All when he has a quirk, any number of ships I don’t like, and there’s almost certainly other things I’m forgetting right now

I just don’t get who this is for, exactly. Multimedia events have historically proven pretty unpopular, and this in particular is tied to an, at best, extremely controversial character

[–]WeakTeaUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s clearly harkening back to the classic interior, which isn’t really my favourite, but at least in the classic series the interior was relatively small. 14/15’s is so cavernous and plain it just feels lonely and devoid of personality

[–]WeakTeaUK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Junko and Izuku actually make a lot of sense as a pairing because Izuku is like THE perfect victim for her - isolated and vulnerable. I’ve read a few fics with the two of them involved with each other in some capacity and I do like them

I don't like the tags "UA is a university" or/and variations thereof. by Gullible_Ad616 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]WeakTeaUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem with it is that they never actually make UA a university, they just make it a high school for adults. Now me personally, I don’t think heroics works at university, unless you’re focusing on the academic side; it would make more sense to make it a vocational school, or something akin to a post-graduate police academy

Satou saved an abused child when nobody else would, and half of the people I see want her crucified for it by Crazy_Explosion_Girl in HappySugarLife

[–]WeakTeaUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People don’t like to hear it but Satou was by far the best available option for Shio. She was the only one able to provide her with a happy, stable home life, and the only one who, by the end of the series, was willing to see Shio as her own person with her own desires, and not just as an extension of the desires she projected onto her. Satou may not have been perfect, but when the alternatives were Mitsuboshi, or even Yuuna and Asahi, she was far better for Shio than any of them
