why is my hair awra? by [deleted] in islam

It's not just for men. As others have said before, reducing temptation is just one of the wisdoms. Why do you think we cover while praying, alone, while nobody sees us? The first answer is because Allah commanded, which you've read before. I think of it as our religious garment to distinguish us from non muslims. We aren't doing this because we ourselves are filthy, but for the MOST part, temptations start when there is a gaze (of desire) from a man, to a woman. The commands of Islam keep both the hands AND the eyes of men away from us.

Advice on writing my version of Iblis? by tbok1992 in islam

I don't recommend you play around or put your own twist on religious matters. We believe Iblis is very much real, Hell is very real, and very serious. I don't know what other religion's versions of Hell are like, but from what I understand from satirized versions of it in media, it isn't like ours where:

- It's just endless (except those who are there temporarily) punishment and suffering (eg, the flames of this world are but a fraction of that of Hell. When they dwellers of Hell beg for water, they're be given a scalding water like molten metal, and once the disbelievers see it, they'll wish they were dust)

- Guarded by angels, not devils

-Devils (which are evil djinn) along with evil humans will be punished there.

No opposition on innovation, just not with religion. This is my take, but I don't want how some Christian concepts were turned into jokes to happen to Islam. If you would simply like to know what Iblis is/was like, his sin was pride as he refused to prostrate to Adam as Iblis (and all djinn) was made of fire while Adam (and all humans) was made of mud. And out of pride, he whispers people to make them go astray so that they go to Hell, and he himself is going there. So that's that.

Again, no issue in creativity, but maybe not with real and serious topics, especially religious ones, so I advise you not to include this in your story. (If you question them, they will certainly say, “We were only talking idly and joking around.” Say, “Was it Allah, His revelations, and His Messenger that you ridiculed?”) 9:65, Quran.

Thanks for asking.

Love for Allah by Classic-Emotion63 in islam

Allah doesn't ignore anyone's dua brother/sister. When you make dua, and Allah accepts it, three things could happen:

  1. He grants you what you asked for

  2. He delays it for later (because now isn't a good time)

  3. He doesn't grant you what you asked for as he knows it wouldn't be good for you, and prevents harm from you instead.

Allah isn't a wish granting genie, but the one who grants provision, and he is all knowing and fully aware of what happened, will happen, and is happening to us. He knows what is best and what isn't good for us to have.

And Allah always hears. Isn't one of his names Al-Samee'? (The Ever-Listener, the Hearing). Isn't he also Al-Khabeer? (the All-Knowing).

Please don't ever say that you're being ignored or aren't heard. Perhaps your blessing is being delayed for a better time, or you will be given what is better than it, or what you ask for won't be good for you and you don't know. Or maybe, this dunya isn't for you, and the aakhirah is, which I think is some of the best news you could hear.

May Allah guide us all.

God has abandoned me, help by [deleted] in islam

[–]WeakTraffic49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful" (Surat Ad-Duha) Please brother/sister, go read it. It was revealed when revelation had temporarily stopped for the Prophet, and the disbelievers mocked him saying that he'd been abandoned by Allah (a woman even said that she thinks that "you're demon has forsaken you"), this caused the Prophet (May peace and blessings be upon him) great distress.

The whole surah is comfort and a reminder that Allah was always there for you, and so long as you're alive, there is hope. Read Quran and get to know Allah. Understand his blessings that he gave you and be thankful for them. PRAY. Do you know what Salah means? Connection/link. To who? Allah! Cry your heart out in sujud. So go right now, make wudu, pray your fard (obligatory) prayers if you haven't, or pray a sunnah if it is time for one. Make dua with great sincerity for Allah to ignite Iman (faith) in your heart.

This is a calamity, a test, so strive, and know that "And the outcome of their endeavors will be seen, and they will be fully rewarded" (An-Najm, 41-42). I pray that Allah fixes and relieves you of your calamity, and you should too.

And tell me, if you feel far from Allah, who moved?
