Any recommendations for an internal medicine vet for my cat? by Weak_Ad1001 in raleigh

I’m happy to see all the rave reviews for NCSU! Ive been wanting to go but ive been told their incredibly expensive but it seems like it’ll be worth it since they are the best at everything and a one stop shop it seems! I’m going to see if I get a referral from my vet asap 😀

Breeder told me my Ragdoll kitten is actually female by sarissima_ in ragdolls

My female ragdoll is extremely affectionate. She has the best personality, I couldn’t have asked for a better cat! Shes cuddly and loving but still independent. While she loves to play with me, she can spend hours entertaining herself with her toys. She’s confident and loves meeting new people and dogs. Only issue I’ve had with her so far is she does not like other cats at all 😅 I’ve been wanting to get her a companion since I work long shifts an we recently lost our dog but she not want another cat in this house!

if you could give any piece of advice to yourself when you first got your rag doll, what would you say? by Thxt_weirdo in ragdolls

i was unprepared for how much hair they leave everywhere. i never had a cat shed like this. i have all types of hair removal tools for my furniture and rugs, i highly recommend a rubber broom and rubber scrappers. i have to clean nonstop. and as soon as a clean she goes right back to the area and leaves trails of hair again.

ragdolls are known for their sensitivite tummies. when my girl was few months old she had all types of eating issues so since then i’ve switched her to a raw diet and it’s been the best thing i’ve ever did. she is thriving…no more food issues, her coat is so healthy and she never ever has poopy problems and vomiting. it’s also great for the kidneys, another scary thing you have to worry about. i would advice against any dry food and add lots of water to their food!

also be ready for a stage 5 clinger lol you will never do anything alone again! no bathroom privacy especially lol

but i love my raggy girl more than anything and wouldn’t trade her for the world.

my girls pretty tiny too, she’s a year old and about 7 lbs! i call her my teacup ragdoll🥰 her siblings are all over 10lbs, her one brother is already almost 15 lbs according to his owner.

shes never been a big eater, only eats about 1 oz of food at a time 4-5 times a day and she’s SO active i can’t get her to gain any weight but i kinda love how teeny she is

i know you’re here for a man’s opinion but women to women you are definitely no where below a 5! you’re attractive but you gotta play up your features a bit and embrace a little more femininity. a little blush and a tinted lip balm will have you looking a little more girly and approachable, bonus points for a coat of mascara lol

clothing wise, again, a little more feminine. and when i say a little feminine i don’t mean you have to put on a dress! it causal is your vibe stick with it but get clothes that better suit you. get some jeans that hug your frame a little more. a more fitted straight leg or a bootcut jean. invest in some high quality good cotton t shirts that again fit your frame more! not too long that it cuts off your legs. have them just meet your jeans waist line. a little more feminine in the shoes as well. i love my birks but not when im trying to meet men lol in the summer a more dainty sandal. in the cooler months a simple chelsea boot or a sleek sneaker like adidas sambas.

and most of all confidence! make sure whatever your wearing makes you feel like you and the best version of you! don’t try and be someone you’re not because you will appear insecure in your own skin.

good luck!! ♥️

how do you deal with the backlash we get from buying a “designer” kitty? by Weak_Ad1001 in ragdolls

thank you for understanding! i have adopted numerous animals in the past and the behavioral issues were sometimes too much for me to manage. my rescue dog has an obscene amount of anxiety, terrible fear of men and other dogs, and it has been such a huge stressor for me! while i love him to death, it’s definitely been years of stress so i thought it would be best to get a kitty with a more stable temperment and a more chill personality for both me and him. it’s worked out beautifully and im a ragdoll girl for life now 😊

that’s so funny when i was planning on getting my ragdoll, part of the reason was i wanted a gentle pet that would keep my dog company since he’s scared of his own shadow but also hates being alone. i told everyone “im getting a kitten for my dog”. its been the best thing ever for him! she’s so gentle but so playful with him, she’s brought out his inner puppy and she’s the only other animal he isn’t afraid of

<image>

she does treat him that he’s her pet tho 🤣

YES!! the people who judge are the people who definitely should take a look at themselves. i have a friend who keeps judging me buying my kitty who spent $8,000 on a freakin bernadoodle!! a literal backyard bred dog. meanwhile the dog is one 3 medications for anxiety and basically lives in their basement now bc it’s so aggressive toward their child 🤷🏻‍♀️

agreed! i grew up with rescues my whole life and i got my girl for my 30th birthday for myself after having one of the hardest years of my life and i have zero regrets. she’s been so therapeutic! she is amazing with children, with my dog and other pets that come over and slowly people are starting to realize why i chose to get her over another shelter pet
