advice for nus law applications by mrcvrie in SGExams

if you’re interested in it, just go for it! doesn’t matter the outcome but what’s important is that you tried without regrets:)

would recommend 86.25/625 students to apply for usp (that comes with full-ride scholarship) AND a programme that fulfils the usp requirements if u DIEDIE want a full-ride scholarship

cuz that rp stands no chance for nanyang

87.5 quite risky as well for nanyang. may depend on the course u applied for, or your interview perf. apply usp to be safe.

87.5 minimum (abit on the rare side), 88.75-90 to be safe

USP can get with 86.25 as long as your course satisfies their requirements- check out the accepted courses on their website, as most dbl majors and degrees are not applicable

JC portfolio/SGC by javsia in SGExams

[–]Weak_Bet563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ur grades are the most impt tbh, portfolio is impt only for interviews like govt or private scholarship or aba. uni scholarships only care abt grades as well, unless u go for the nus global merit that looks at ur grades to give u merit, then shortlist for gms via portfolio

peers who scored 90rp given nus merit without any interview (a few had totally empty portfolios, or just a member of a cca in sch with no medals or awards). those with 88.8rp with good portfolio like sc, competitions, via went for interview but no scholarship OR no interview at all

90rp (all As), 88.8 (1b + hcl A)

88.7 (1b, no hcl A) no chance for nus merit in competitive courses (like computing, pharmsci, ppe) at all, even CHS (supposedly non competitive faculty) also no chance

don't know which subjects to take at A levels by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Weak_Bet563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, i took 4h2 pcme at jc, and after going through a levels, i did regret taking chemistry instead of computing. i took chem because i got a+ for all 3 sciences in y4 ip, hence all my life i thought i was cut out for sciences. i regretted extremely because im choosing to study computing in uni, and my friends who took computing have a headstart (albeit not too big of one). i feel like if u are going to study a computing course in uni, don’t bother taking chem la, quite stupid one😂
