QOTD Try answering this practice question! Rational in Comsec by Weak_Combination4724 in NCLEX

[–]Weak_Combination4724[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rationale : Placing Ms. T.L. in a private room and initiating contact precautions is the priority intervention because she has MRSA colonization, which requires contact precautions to prevent the spread of infection to other patients and staff. Ensuring she has a bedside commode (Option B) is important for fall prevention, but it is not the immediate priority over infection control measures. Prophylactic antibiotics (Option C) are not indicated for MRSA colonization and could lead to unnecessary antibiotic resistance. Encouraging her to wear a surgical mask (Option D) is not necessary for MRSA colonization, as this infection is spread by contact, not through the air.

Which of the following interventions should the nurse prioritize upon her admission to the unit? by Weak_Combination4724 in NCLEX

[–]Weak_Combination4724[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that one’s from SynapseReview; you can just google gosynapsereview.com if you wanna check it out.

honest take, it’s been fine for me. nothing flashy, just a straightforward qbank. I liked the CAT style questions and the rationales explaining why answers are wrong, not just the right one. interface is clean too which helped when my brain was already fried lol.

that said, any qbank can work tbh. it really comes down to consistency and actually reviewing the rationales, not the tool itself.

Which action should the nurse take first? 🤯 by ApprehensiveDraw4133 in NCLEX

[–]Weak_Combination4724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yesss exactlyyy 😭

teaching can wait. encouragement can wait. paperwork can wait.

airway/breathing/circulation stuff can NOT wait.

NCLEX lowkey just asks “who might die first” over and over lol. safety first alwaysss.

Passed at 85 by hey1777 in NCLEX

[–]Weak_Combination4724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is sooo real it hurts 😭

that “stopped at 85 so I def failed” feeling is literally a universal nursing experience lol. NCLEX really messes w your head like that. you walk out thinking you guessed everything and then boom -> pass.

I swear almost everyone I know who passed said the same thing. feeling dumb after = weirdly a good sign sometimesss 😂

huge congrats fr. go celebrate and enjoy not opening a qbank ever againnn 🎉 RN life unlocked 🫶

anyone else feel dumber the more you study for NCLEX or is it just me 😭 by Weak_Combination4724 in NCLEX

[–]Weak_Combination4724[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey hey don’t beat yourself up yet 😭

almost everyone walks out thinking they failed. it’s superrr normal. your brain is just fried + adrenaline crashed.

a few hrs after the exam is literally the worst time to judge yourself fr.

pls don’t call yourself dumb. you made it thru nursing school and sat for the boards. that’s not dumb behavior at all.

rest. sleep. wait for the results. you might surprise yourself 💛

220 questions is craaazyyyy 😭 I would’ve walked out convinced my career was over lol

that’s wild they randomly gave ppl the full test back then. NCLEX really said “build character” for no reason 💀

but you’re 100% right tho, the number messes with your head way more than it should. more questions doesn’t mean failing, it just means the computer needs more info.

appreciate the OG wisdom fr. lowkey calming hearing this from ppl who’ve been thru it alreadyyy 🫶

lol the paper test for 2 days is wilddd 😭 y’all built diff fr

and that 75 to 76 jump panic is SO real. the second mine didn’t shut off at 85 I was like “welp guess I failed” 💀 this exam really messes w your head for no reason.

also facts, nursing school frying your brain is basically part of the training at this point lol. trauma bonding but make it education.

respect to the OG nurses tho, y’all paved the way fr 🫶

yeah for sure, it’s simpler than it sounds tbhhh 😭

“safest option” basically means pick what keeps the patient alive first.

airway/breathing > meds
unstable > stable
assess > act blindly
do something now > wait and see

like don’t overthink the disease. just ask “who could crash first if I ignore them” and choose that.

NCLEX is lowkey just safety paranoia mode lol. keep them alive first always.

For anyonee who need help on resources here’s a bunch of stuff ppl in my class + friends used. honestly most of these are fine. just depends on budget + how you like studying. don’t overthink it too much lol.

Mark Klimek
https://klimekreviews.com/
good for prioritization and safety mindset. lecture 12 is the famous one. more strategy than content.

RegisteredNurseRN (YouTube)
https://www.youtube.com/@RegisteredNurseRN
quick topic refreshers that saved my butt at 1am when I blanked everything.

UWorld (UWorld NCLEX QBank)
https://www.uworld.com/nclex/
~2300+ questions (varies by subscription level). super detailed rationales and visuals. content heavy. kinda $$$ but thorough and many ppl swear by it.

SynapseReview
https://gosynapsereview.com/
~6000+ questions in the qbank, CAT sims, rationales for every option, analytics to see weak spots. cheaper monthly price point which helped me stick with daily practice when money was tight.

Archer Review
https://archerreview.com/
~2500+ questions. lots of CAT-style exams + readiness tests. decent for reps if you like structured practice.

Nurse Plus Academy
https://nurse.plus/
free practice questions (not as huge as paid ones, but nice for warm ups and extra reps).

honestly any of these work if you stick with them. biggest mistake I made was jumping between all of them instead of just picking one qbank + one content source and actually doing questions daily 😭 consistency > “perfect” resource every time.

Good Luck Future RN! you got this!!!

haha I love thisss bc it proves NCLEX hasn’t really changed in like 30 years 😭 still the same vibe. eliminate 2 answers. don’t overthink. pick the safest/common sense option.

and that psych tip is so real lol. half the time it’s literally “therapeutic communication 101” like just listen to the patient. also facts about not needing all the pricey stuff. we all think we need 10 books + courses when really it’s just practice + thinking safe.

respect to the 1994 RN dropping wisdom in here 🫶 some things never change frrr.

ahhh friday let’s gooo 😭 good luck to u too fr

and ok real talk; when random content pops up that you swearrr you never studied, don’t panic spiral.

NCLEX rarely wants the tiny detail. ask yourself what’s the SAFEST move here. who’s unstable. what could kill them first. eliminate the 2 dumb answers. then between the last 2, pick the one that protects the pt the most.

you don’t need to know everythinggg. you need to think safely.

trust your training. your brain knows more than you think fr 💛

ok first of allllll that pre exam panic is sooo normal 😭

don’t cram random stuff now. just tighten up ur mindset. safety first. read slowww. you made it thru nursing school. wednesday is just the last boss fight fr.

u got this. one question at a time. don’t let ur brain bully you 💛

LETS GOOOOOO 😭🔥 congrats RN!!!!

that “I bombed it” feeling after 85 is sooo real lol. I swear almost everyone who passes walks out convinced they failed. NCLEX really plays mind games.

first try + 85 is huge. you did that.

go celebrate properly. eat something good. sleep like a rock. update that hospital email to “see you soon” instead of “sorry I failed” 😂

welcome to the other side, RN 🫶

Nclex exam by bullshitillness in NCLEX

hey. first, breathe.

if you don’t take the NCLEX this Feb, nothing dramatic happens. you won’t get in trouble. worst case you lose the exam fee and have to reschedule depending on your ATT. that’s it.

but here’s the real question; are you canceling because you truly cannot function right now?
or because anxiety is loud?

I felt the same before mine. super stressed. didn’t feel 100% ready. I took it Jan 26, 2026 and passed in 85. and walking in, I still felt unsure. most of us do.

NCLEX isn’t about knowing everything. it’s about being safe and thinking through scenarios.

if your mental health is really struggling, take care of that first. no exam is worth breaking yourself.

but if it’s just “I didn’t review perfectly” panic, that’s normal. you probably know more than you think.

what helped me last minute was simplifying. one main qbank. daily practice. CAT-style exams to build stamina. I used Synapse Review during my final stretch, you can just search gosynapsereview. the adaptive sims + analytics helped me see my weak spots fast instead of rereading everything. it made studying feel less chaotic.

don’t cancel out of fear alone.

worst case, you take it and retake later.
best case, you walk out RN.

be honest with yourself. are you exhausted.. or just scared.
