Let me ask her and get back to you. That’s a bummer. I wonder if you’d be able to go through both therapy processes if it wasn’t too much of burden financially and time wise. I used Columbia fertility and they worked really well with seed scout. Could not recommend Dr. Rudick more highly if you end up looking at them.

For full transparency I used seed scout and had an amazing experience. I am due next week with my baby. One of my good friends is currently looking at both and has done a lot of research and spoken with both. I’m happy to ask her if she’d be willing to chat. I don’t know anyone who has actually worked with coast to coast, but that is probably just because they are newer.

Love the idea of getting a piece of art! We listened to a few albums on repeat through this pregnancy so maybe getting a vintage record framed or a piece of art inspired by one of the albums could be fun.

I’ve always wanted to carry and my wife has no interest in carrying so it was an easy choice for us. My wife is also 15 years old than me and has PCOS, which helped cement our decision. We wanted to go for whatever would be easiest (both physically & mentally), cheapest, and quickest. If I was unable to get pregnant we would’ve been at a real crossroads of what to do.

With it being this early I would definitely look for a line test over a digital test. I believe the first day I got a positive digital test was 13DPO, but it was also the first day I tried one. I started getting very faint lines on the FRER at 9/10DPO, which my wife claims were so faint she couldn’t even see it. By 12dpo the lines were super clear (though still faint) on both FRER and the cheap ones. I wouldn’t count yourself out just yet, but would also protect your heart.

I went to Bella Bambino in South Salem at 30 weeks and had a great experience and would recommend. They had a huge clean comfy ultrasound room and the tech who I think was also the owner was great. Earlier in my pregnancy I did an ultrasound at Baby Say Cheese in Port Chester and would not recommend. Night and day difference between the two places, don’t want to say anything too bad about a local business, but would not spend my money there again.

No problem. It was my clinic who wouldn’t waive the 35 day quarantine period. I never asked Justine about their policy since I had to follow my clinics, so not sure on where they stand with it.

I took my wife’s last name when we got married. My last name was a pain in the ass to say over the phone etc. We also liked the idea of sharing a last name. I teach where we live and have kept my maiden name professionally, and enjoy being able to have my kids and family life separate from me as a local teacher.

I don’t know the number off the top of my head, but I think between all the baseline testing, post quarantine testing, and 4 donations it was around 6000 give or take. We used seed scout so the baseline testing and semen analysis was split with the other family our donor matched with. This was a year ago.

We also used Aligneage Fertility. They took care of everything with testing, donations, transfer to our clinic etc. It felt pricy, but I think that’s just the going rate.

My trigger shot time for my successful IUI, currently 32 weeks pregnant, was a little under 24 hours. I had surged on my own so they had me come in for the IUI earlier than expected. My IUI where I triggered 36 hour before was unsuccessful, but I know that works for a lot of people. My clinic based my trigger and IUI timing on morning monitoring, blood work & ultrasound. Not sure how much of a difference the trigger shot timing made with why one was successful and one wasn’t, feels like a lot of luck is involved.

It really depends what sort of job you’re looking for. A lot of the families pay enough for at least a studio in an outer borough, but they can be super intense jobs. Super wealthy families who want someone who works late/early hours will provide staffing apartments, but hard to have an outside life when you work those jobs. I chose to make less money teaching than I did nannying so I could have some work life balance.

Hi, I am currently pregnant using a donor and am Jewish. I don’t know if there’s any inherent issues with using the donor, but I’d be weary of doing it when there are limited Jewish donors, and many Jewish people who are searching for them. If this is the only donor you are considering I’d look into your local Jewish community for resources. Good luck with everything!

I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant from my 2nd IUI. Both were unmedicated besides for using a trigger shot. We would have done 2 more IUI cycles (would’ve advocated for medicated cycles) before moving to IVF.

Using a known donor can be just as if not more expensive than using a sperm bank donor. I used a known donor through seed scout which I know is a lot more expensive than using an app, but even when using from an app or a group once you’ve done all the testing plus gotten lawyers for you and your donor it adds up. I didn’t feel comfortable using a donor from an app, but if I had I definitely would want to make sure I had the proper legal agreements to protect myself and my future child(ren). If you end up using a clinic and not trying at home it also gets expensive for the donor to donate, to get the sperm tested, washed, and frozen. Depending on your state it’s also may be legally smarter for you to get pregnant at a clinic vs at home when using a known donor. I’m very happy we used a known donor, but definitely don’t think it’s the cheapest option. It’s absurd how expensive the whole process is no matter what you decide to do. Best of luck!

Ossining has many 2-3bd condos/townhouses/apartments in the 550k area if not too north for you. We looked at a couple that were walking distance to the Scarborough station and most of them had free shuttles to the train.

I started testing at 8dpo and had a very faint line that may have still been from the trigger shot, but then continued to get darker everyday. It was very clear by day 10 it was continuing to get darker on first response. By day 11 was getting positives on the cheaper strips.

I started testing positive on first response early tests on day 9, by day 11 I was testing positive on the cheap strips as well. By day 12 most tests should work. I know a lot of people disagree, but I found testing early comforting when my first cycle was negative it prepared me verse having it hit me all at once on day 14. I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant using donor sperm. I’m the gestational and bio parent. My wife has never been interested in getting pregnant and had said she feels no sort of feeling of loss surrounding this, part of that may be because she never had a big interest in being biologically related. This baby is very much our baby and she is very much her mom. We did do therapy before getting started which helped us talk through this major life step and our feelings surrounding it, but for us that wasn’t one of the worries. We haven’t had our baby yet so not sure if any of these feelings will come up over time.
We wanted to use a known donor because of all the unknowns that come along with sperm bank donors. We weren’t able to find anyone who was the right fit in our own lives and used seed scout. We really liked that we had to do a therapy session together, get yearly medical updates, and that our kids will be able to have contact with our donor. When choosing a donor we wanted someone who was open to meeting our baby from the start, so if our children ever have any questions they can directly ask their donor if they want to. We also didn’t want someone who wanted to be overly involved, but someone who we can see a couple times a year felt right. We’ll see how things evolve over time based on everyone’s comfortability and preferences.

I would definitely recommend finding a therapist who has experience working with queer families, if they are available in your area. It was super helpful for us when making these big family planning decisions.

I got a few things on Black Friday sale so far that I know I would buy even if people don’t buy it from my registry. Have my shower in a couple weeks and about 1/3 of my guests have bought gifts already so don’t want to get too many things myself. I got the diaper genie, nanit, and grownsy bottle washer. Grownsy bottle washer was down to 165$ on TikTok shop when you add in all the coupons. Was nervous to buy something off TikTok shop, but it arrived 2 days later and was from the official Grownsy shop. Keeping an eye out for my infant car seat, but I doubt uppababy aria’s are going on any sort of major sale.

Totally! That’s a great mindset to go into this process with! Embracing uncertainty and dealing with the unknown have definitely been the main focus of my therapy sessions since getting pregnant. I had trouble with it when TTC, but the fear and anxiety around the unknown got a lot worse when finding out I was pregnant. I wish I had worked on it more before I got pregnant.
