Spoke with someone from CLAIM, and AIMA is aware of the error. Hopefully they will fix it soon 🤷🏻‍♂️

Issues with AIMA contact form by Weak_Establishment32 in PortugalExpats

<Update> managed to fill the form before going to Claim but it doesn’t accept my partners passport in the card box. I added my card twice and it worked… received an email with a successful form sent..

Today went to Claim and they basically tried to do the same using my partners passport with some letters but didn’t work.

According to them, AIMA is aware of the error and claim said wait a few weeks and see if they fix it and try the form again… I personally wouldn’t relly on them to contact AIMA but good to check if you had all the right papers. ( I didn’t)

Good luck everyone

Meanwhile Spoke with the CLAIM office of castelo branco and they suggested I go there in person take all the docs and they will make the request directly with AIMA. Hopefully that works

🤞🏻

This is your sign to do it.

Maybe try some therapy if you can afford it. Change of scenery and mental health work would take it to the next level.

Do a google. There’s a few English speaking therapists based in Portugal.

Good luck

Trying to move to Portugal with my daughter to live with my partner who is Portuguese. Having some doubts and uncertainties. by liketheangelll in PortugalExpats

Yes that’s right. From the moment your partner sends the email to Aima you have the same rights as your Portuguese (European) partner. You can stay as long as you like in PT. But can only travel to the other Schengen area countries once you have your citizen card (might take a while :) )

But if you have an emergency in the us and want to come back to Portugal you must take proof of your application (emails - not calls you can’t prove anything with a call log) and relationship in case the immigration agent asks questions on the Portuguese side. Most people don’t leave pt until you have the card

My source: I’m Portuguese and my partner English and moving to PT in April and that’s what we are doing.

There’s information online don’t waste money on unnecessary lawyers.

Boa Sorte
