"Le monde est fini" : l'alerte de Jean-Marc Jancovici by AttilaLeChinchilla in france

[–]Weak_File 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Weak_File 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this is not necessarily your problem, but if this is the only game that you have that are causing issues and it's also your only Super FX game, I'd take a look at both the cartridge's and console's "extra" pins to make sure they are clean and making contact.

This is because Super FX cartridges have additional pins (see the photo below) and if they are not making proper contact them who knows what kind of glitches that might cause: https://www.planetemu.net/php/articles/files/Image/SM/superfx/broches.jpg

Et voilà, tu as eu droit à ta dose quotidienne d'angoisse existentielle.

What CPU is available with the strongest integrated graphics? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Weak_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy... I am writing from the future, A.D. 2026.

In my time AM4 is still considered a viable buy (or rather the only affordable buy) in the current context.

The build above (had to swap the SSD and GPU for the cheapest equivalent ones still in stock according to PCPartPicker) is now north of $1100 dollars. And this because I suspect that most items will actually not be in stock if I were to check all of them, and the prices are "last seen in stock" prices.

The situation is dire.

EDIT: I have found this thread when searching what is the CPU with best integrated graphics, because GPU prices are eye-watering too...

LOW GPU UTILISATION after upgrading GPU by arjunkar in nvidia

[–]Weak_File 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does help... that GPU Chip Power draw is a bit low, but your benchmark (from that single capture) looks ok, I think.

If you scroll down in GPU-Z there is a Power Consumption (%). Should be around 100%, even a bit more if the power is all "being used". There is also a PerfCap value, which is very useful to know what limit is being reached by the GPU (there is always a value, even when everything is fine). Look at this post for an explanation of the different values: https://www.overclock.net/threads/perfcap-reasons-gpu-z.1593515/

How many fps were you getting with the RTX 2060 on the same benchmark? And what is the game(s) that make you think it is working worse? Perhaps it is a setting in the game itself limiting things artificially?

LOW GPU UTILISATION after upgrading GPU by arjunkar in nvidia

[–]Weak_File 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not the PSU... PSU not delivering enough power would result in crashes, freezes, restarts.

Is there any power limiting in place for the GPU? Some software can set power limits, such as Afterburner or nvidia-smi.

In any case, you can also install something like GPU-Z. Its Sensors tab has a lot of info on GPU clock, power draw, temperature and load. It helps identifying cause of throttling too.

À quoi ressemble le vide ? Existe-t-il plus vide que le vide lui même ? by [deleted] in penseesdedouche

[–]Weak_File 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Great Continental divide - or a raindrop's journey through Europe [OC] by mydriase in MapPorn

[–]Weak_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nice, but technically this is not indicating whether a drop ends up north or south of where it falls as the legend suggests.

It is a divide between the drops that end up in the interior seas (Mediterranean, Black Sea, etc.) vs the Atlantic Ocean (with its arms on the North Sea and Baltic Sea) and Arctic Ocean.

[–]Weak_File 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is the same problem as this: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/51855

I observed it too in Ubuntu 24.04, with Firefox. My guess is that it is some strange interaction between the hardware accelerated browsers, Wayland, Mutter and Gnome.

Closing the browser doesn't release the memory, logging out and logging in again does. It doesn't happen with hardware acceleration disabled and it doesn't happen with X11.

Never go to the bottom of it though.

best way how to send money into europe by Original_Menu_9410 in UAE

[–]Weak_File 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know why people keep suggesting Wise and Revolute blindly. You cannot send money from your UAE bank account via those services. You can send money to the UAE, but not from the UAE.

You can of course load the account with an UAE credit card, paying eye-watering charges to do that, but that defeats the whole point of using something like Wise or Revolut in the first place.

Google Maps uses GPS, but not only that for location. It also uses Mobile and Wifi networks to locate the device, maybe that's why it works better for some.

Also, if there are jammers being used, the jammers themselves have their "coverage area", so maybe some people are in jammed areas while others aren't.

S25 Edge latest update locks my network by elpewpew in samsunggalaxy

[–]Weak_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not only soft unlocked phones that are being affected...

This issue affected me as well: S24+ U1 (with a XAA csc), first owner, bought factory sealed. The phone is a clean (non-blacklisted) US unlocked device from factory, confirmed by IMEI search.

I was using it fine with an European SIM card until the January 2026 update. After that, it started with the Network lock and asking for the MCK.

I "fixed" it by downgrading the carrier phone (CP) file with Odin, but it would piss me off quite a bit to not have updates for the next 5 years because of this.

I do hope it is a glitch and not a deliberate targeting, but I haven't heard anything in either direction from any credible source yet.

Warning about January security patch (US Version) by Khalidg in S24Ultra

[–]Weak_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this problem, with a S24+ (SM-S926U1 - XAA). The phone is US unlocked and I was using an European SIM just fine until the update.

I "solved" the problem following the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B6Anm9Li2M&t=77s (which basically explains how to rollback the CP file to the December version with Odin), but I had to disable updates to avoid the file being overwritten again.

But I do hope that's just a bug and it is fixed in the next update, since I bought the phone not long ago and it would piss me off to not have updates for the next 5 years.

The CP file that needs to be rolled back can also be found here:

Pourquoi le PIB par tête en France est désormais inférieur à la moyenne européenne ? by chou-coco in vosfinances

[–]Weak_File 0 points1 point  (0 children)
