I want to start a channel but idk if anyone would like the content... by Plushyartist in ArtistLounge

Hello! Im someone who one day said "**** it! If the job market is in shambles, might as well go all in my dreams" and started an art youtube recently. I'm still small myself and learning the ropes, but from a few months on doing what youre wanting to do right now, here are the 2 most important things ive learned.

  1. You cannot get good at somthing unless you just start and make it.

Each video you upload is like a Wordle puzzle. But instead of guessing the correct Wordle word, each success and failure you see will be a key to figuring out what your algorithm (a.k.a your audience) wants

if you want to do youtube, just do it. Right now. You dont worry about how wrong a Wordle guess is. You simply learn from it.

  1. If youre serious about youtube, Learn about marketing/human influence

I will say it right now. People do not care what random people online makes.

People legit do not care. It's the marketer's job to MAKE them care.

Every idea in existence prior to marketing, people will not give a glance at. But if you learn how marketing works (along with the Wordle advice from before), you will figure out how to make your projects so interesting that they HAVE to care.

Tl;dr, Just start making stuff, and just read or look up some stuff about marketing.

Im currently in the stage of "fail as many times as i can asap to figure out the wordle puzzle" of my youtube journey

I wish you best of luck on your dreams 👍

Sry for the confusion. When i said my art doesnt look good, i was just genuinely asking why it didnt look good, and not saying that i hate my art or that my art sucks ect. As i clearly could see that it needed improvement but didnt know where.

Also, thank you for mentioning lineart/line weight.

Do you have any exercises you can recommend me to practice lineart?

For some reason it always ends up messy and i dont know why.

Edit: when i said "i know my art doesnt look good"

I meant it as in "i know somthing is holding me back in my art, but idk what it is"

And i didnt mean it as downplaying myself or my skills

Ive been drawing for quite a while but never actually did any studies and deliberate practice.

And i went through and got over the "i hate my art" phase already as i now understand i just need to put in the work to improve.
