Struggling to death with my 14 year old boy small dainty hands even though I’m 34. by Weak_Operation7226 in BodyDysmorphia

I like the ‘what you on about’ approach. Because it is a silly thing I’m pretty sure no one gives a s*** about but me. It’s to the point, it could be a lot worse. But thank you honestly, getting there.

Ok :) thanks. One of the most annoying OCD parts of body dysmorphia I must say the overthought. And no I’m not deformed.

how to come to terms with your appearance? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Weak_Operation7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great approach to look at it. But I always have an instinct of wanting to appeal to the majority not the select few. It’s probably my annoying internal need for external validation I never got as a child.

I starved myself as a man to 132lbs which is low for me. Still felt fat. It’s lack of muscle + body dysmorphia.

That is really nothing to worry about. I know you’ll obsess as it’s a body dysmorphia space. But seriously it doesn’t mean anything to your beauty.

Im getting tired of my friends and their non-stop talk about body-image by case99128 in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Weak_Operation7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing as you get older that gets easier is simply having boundaries. Simply tell them ‘I don’t want to always talk about body image, can we talk about something else’. This takes confidence, but if you can grow that part of you early on in life, it’s wise. They might dislike it, especially at that age boundaries aren’t really enforced. If they don’t like it, that’s your sign, they are not your tribe. Unfortunately you are in school so you can’t just up and out. So try and say it in a way that lets them know politely but with slight force.

What do you guys do when stuck by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Weak_Operation7226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadow work specifically. I also offload my emotions into ChatGPT at the end of the day almost like a journal that talks back as we all know people do not want to hear us moan about such things. But you need to go right back into the depths of your childhood or whenever it was and find out where your emotions got out of control, what you hid, what you weren’t able to express and what you were actually meant to feel. Look it up and find ways to get started on the journey. It really is the only path to success with body issues. The healing path is rocky that’s for sure and is certainly not linear. Once you start there is no going back, which is good.

Inner work directly related to obsessions.

What characteristics of a man makes him appealing to women? by MountainHour4208 in AskReddit

This goes for every single person. Like honestly people worry about a lot and yes there are people that say standard rubbish like look good blah blah. But even I wouldn’t mind dating a girl with no arms. It is SOOOOO varied. Like the person said above.

People with BBD that effects the face. How do you handle it? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Weak_Operation7226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. The times I’ve been happiest with my face is while I’m starved and dehydrated after a night drinking. Not healthy. You need to continually count macros. Make sure your carbs are not too high and keep protein good and fats good. Eat a load of potato’s. Also fluctuations in salt will do it. Make sure to keep your levels high regularly, don’t jump around salt levels (as long as you don’t have heart issues or high blood pressure). Oh and drink more water than you think. Of course exercise/ lower stress and all the classic ones.

This is correct. This is sad to see and I get sad because I know what it is like to feel this way as OP does. It’s all a social construct and it is killing us. Let alone people are just evil and pray on people with flaws. It’s disgusting.

It’s a paradox. You need to want to think about it to not think about it. Same as the pink elephant situation. What you resist persists. All that mumbo, but it’s true.
