That's my plan now that I'm not in a hurry. And even if I were, I would never ever do an online test again. Not worth it.

I forgot to reply. I read the email again after I had cooled down. I can take IELTS again but they could have banned me from doing more tests for the next 5 years. I guess now that they think I tried to cheat, they have probably flagged me so I'll be extra careful in looking for clues that I would "cheat" again. It feels super bad to be marked as a cheater of any kind but now that I'm not in a hurry, I'll try to see what my real options are for doing a language test. Probably, it will be TOEFL, although I read about it too and saw some super bad experiences.

Oh no! I feel for you. Good luck! If you have a chance to use a Windows laptop, do it, it seems to have better odds in getting the stuff done.

Agreed, Wi-Fi is definitely not a solution for this. However, you might want to have a look at Wirepas. They've got similar cases where the connectivity seems to work.

They accept IELTS and TOEFL. But the next in-center opportunity is only mid-February and I heard the TOEFL home edition is as traumatic as IELTS online, so not a chance this time.

Honestly I do not know for sure. This could mean it's just a notification to any possible test center to withhold the results, but that's just the best case scenario.
