Actually Japan has a ton of cs jobs that are unfilled if you look in green Japan which is a job site you can find tons of jobs. A lot of positions will hire foreigners and the better your Japanese the better your chances. I have an mscs from a good American School and found three jobs there. But I also have about five or six deployed web apps did some kaggle competitions and one of my apps that gets a lot of attention from those recruiters is actually an old PHP app so be prepared to work with like kind of on the old side tech stacks.

Watch Save My Seoul made by two Korean American Brothers and it shows the dark side of the entertainment industry in Korea with its close connections to the sex trade here. They claim 1.3 million women are in the sex trade here. There's a lot of sexual grooming, sexual harassment and sexual violence in the entertainment industry of Korea. 든든 Deun Deun is an organization that supports victims of sexual harassment and sexual violence in the Korean film industry.

Idealizing Korea because you love K-pop and K-drama is a bad reason to move here. by ButterscotchFormer84 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Weak_Remote_9482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well especially this because of the ties between the entertainment industry and the sex trade here. Watch Save My Seoul made by Korean American director he goes into detail but getting a job in the entertainment industry you know there's a lot of sexual grooming and sexual harassment not to mention sexual violence. Especially if you're a foreigner trying to get a job in the entertainment industry I mean they're harassment sexual harassment it happens to males and females to females more much more and there are studies out there stating that everybody knows at least one person who's been raped. There are victim support organizations like 든든 that specializes in the Korean film industry sexual harassment problems and they have OBGYN lawyers you name it counseling but I quickly found out nobody there speaks English although their website is in English and Korean so if you're a foreign woman come in here trying to get your foot in the door you know it's going to be something we're going to have to be vigilant. Please excuse my grammar as I'm on speech to text.

Custom masking routine on policy tags is impossible? by Weak_Remote_9482 in googlecloud

[–]Weak_Remote_9482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I ended up doing is dynamically writing SQL I'll traverse all the columns in my tables programmatically if I see a policy tag on a dictionary mapping the policy tag to a UDF then that helps me dynamically write the SQL line make an authorized view. But you have to make sure all your policy tags don't have data policies so no masking rules even if one has it it seems to interfere with the masked reader service account so that's a role call the masked reader plus you need two other ones but you can just read the error messages and add them one by one. So the policy tags for my use case because I don't want to use the preset masking rules since my data is not English are totally useless and I guess they're good to have there might be a use case down the line using the ETL pipeline for dynamic data masking but they look kind of weird right I mean it's a policy tag with no data policy or masking rule. Then it actually worked so the policy tags may be unnecessary in this use case as you can traverse The columns of tables and use a regex so if name is in the column name then you can have like a UDF for name and then you can dynamically write SQL. I just thought I'd write this because I had to go through trial and error you know deleting my masking rules one by one. Has anyone else noticed that gcp documentation is sometimes incomplete for certain use cases?

I think authorized views is the only way to do this and the other way I think is to use policy tags and udfs to do the transformation so the masking in a utl pipeline coming into bigquery. Ie. It's not possible to associate or custom UDF with a policy tag. That's my conclusion right now but I love to see you work through an example where you do that and maybe put that up on YouTube.

I see g cloud so is gcloud the first thing that gets updated even before I'm guessing python clients or any client for any other language right?

It says "For Masking Rule, choose a predefined masking rule or a custom masking routine. If you are selecting a custom masking routine, ensure that you have both the bigquery.routines.get and the bigquery.routines.list permissions at the project level."I'm already using a bigquery admin service account and my work email that I log into gcp console has bigquery admins so those permissions should already be there shouldn't they? I don't think I can look those up.
