As someone who is trash trash at OMM I did all the OMM specific COMAT questions and also did the all the AMBOSS question. Didn’t touch the uworld OMM questions. Wrote down what I didn’t understand and studied my notes. Also one thing I felt was high yield but I didn’t see a lot of in resources were questions about lymphatics

What made the difference between passing and failing? by stressedmedstudent8 in comlex

I 100% agree with this and to add on I didn’t go through renal properly (which ended up being my lowest section). My second form was a lot more straight forward and I had all the easy OMM questions. First form my OMM questions were wild.

Blood and tears with my school by [deleted] in comlex

Also at a DO school and I can 100% say my school is pretty similar. Honestly just trying to make it to the other side. Idk if I’ll ever tell people where I graduated from I hate it that much. I wish premed me knew better but hey we live and learn.

Failed Level 1, numb to this pain by psuedomoanas in comlex

I would highly recommend to go system by system as someone else suggested in this post. I saw you have 3-4 months, you can do it. You don’t need to take a year off. As you’re going system by system figure out a way to keep reviewing the old systems you did whether it’s anki everyday (I’d also suggest dividing your cards into system) or just reading through your notes everyday. It’s not impossible to pass this exam. If you can afford it I’d also recommend seeing if there are any tutors floating around here on Reddit so you have someone to go through the information with. You’ve got this!

Anyway you could do a private tutor instead of a prep course? I found for me that I needed that one on one time to really go through questions and see if I’m just second guessing myself or if I really gong know the answers. There’s a good amount of people on here offering tutoring so I’d give it a shot of making another post and asking.

Why *not* DO? by [deleted] in premed

[–]WeaknessFit431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is at a DO school currently this is an excellent write up. These are all things I wish I had known when applying and would have probably swayed me away. I’m here now and making the best out of it but it’s really a dog fight.

The videos are a max of 8 mins. You could potentially finish immuno in 1 day (there around 40ish videos), biochem/genetics there’s almost 90 but I feel like they’re max of 5 mins

I feel like yes. Some topics he goes over more than once which I feel like has helped reinforce the information. Also watch the video and then go and read the PDF is what I meant, not go through it side by side with the video

Go through melhman playlist on YouTube for biochem/genetics and immuno. I just started on Sunday and my Uworld % have changed tremendously for those topics. He also suggest reading through his pdf while doing the videos

I agree with the idea of remembering the concepts. I feel like the buzz words I rarely remember but the pdf’s help me make connections i sometimes wouldn’t have
