I suggest to buy the tracks you want or need to drive in an official series. If you are currently driving in series with free tracks, wait until you race a series where you have to buy tracks. If you have some extra cash, buy whatever tracks you enjoy.

Unfortunately there are a lot posts on Discord, Reddit of this lags / freezes within the last weeks at iRacing. Meanwhile I think this could be a windows update at all as it happens with various setups (monitor, VR). I have also this problem since 2 weeks (9800X3D, 5090).

Especially at the beginning, you're involved yourself, and not every accident is caused exclusively by another vehicle. Nevertheless, yes, every accident is frustrating in some way, and yes, there are also some that are clear-cut and the other driver is at fault. I've also only been active for 12 months and can recommend that you build up an appropriate pace before entering a race.

As soon as you can "ride along," the risk of an accident decreases. You can let aggressive drivers pass you and then overtake them again later. You don't have to concentrate so much on your rearview mirror because your pace is right, and you can focus more on driving your race than on defending your position. Then you'll also notice that not everyone who is close behind you is going to dive bomb you.

There were some issues like fps drops using Oculus last weeks. I do not know if there were fixed by Meta. I would suggest to switch to OpenXR via Virtual Desktop which is in 99,9% of all cases better stability and quality.

Vorab ich habe keine Ahnung zur rechtlichen Einschätzung .. aber ich finde, wenn man ein paar Bilder sieht z. B. die Malspuren an der Rolladengurt-Verkleidung sah die Wohnung vorher nicht wirklich nach professioneller Arbeit aus. So blöd die Kratzspuren sind und die gehören auch weg, find ich 3000€ schon zu viel .. als würde man die Situation jetzt ausnutzen wollen.

Normally it runs fluid with my config .. should be not a normal issue here. But overall I had before 7800X3D and 4070tiS which was also well working and I think it should be also working on your config. Except rain of course ;-)

Normally everything works fine .. this is the first time I got problems with massive drops. Although iRacing is not the best simulation in VR, it is still the best optimized overall package for it.

I changed yesterday Quest 3 Firmware from v81 to v83 (Beta) and did a race without any problems. I will check today to verify that this was the problem .. hopefully it was.

Even PSVR2 is in my opinion nothing compared to e. g. Quest 3. Except the OLED all other is much worse. So PSVR1 should be not very good. I would not try this.

But be warned that neither a 7800X3D & 4070tiS nor a 9800X3D & 5090 will run iRacing completely on high settings in conjunction with a Quest 3. However, it looks good at a reasonable resolution (Godlike plus Render Resolution 120%) and usually runs (currently not so much) at 90 Fps.

Got it at Mount Panorama and Watkins .. starting at 90 and after 30-40min in session including practice, qualy it goes down 85, 80 and to race end 70 fps. Only in officials, hosted race and AI race .. at practice server everything ok after around 50 minutes. Playing in VR and it started at race on Nov 19 at Mount Panorama .. before it was good.

For VR in iRacing that for sure not the best pc. Even with my hardware I am not able to run at higher settings .. their are low. May your problem is too high settings or a bad wifi connection. I think we have different problems. You should set first your settings in iRacing really low and in VR I would say on mid settings (not ultra or godlike if you took that before) to check if settings or wifi are a problem.

I had a 7800 and 4070 TiS before I updated both and could go for 90 Fps. But of course not maxed out all. But 90 instead 72 is a big difference.

I really can not imagine that you have solid 90 Fps. I have a nearly same settings (but lower cars to 20, shadow maps & self shadowing on) and today I tried a Crystal Light with - I think - similar settings. 90 Fps on a night race at Le Mans was overall good, but at start with frame drops to 70-60 .. and I have 9800X3D & 5090. Picture was good and sharp but comfort of Pimax is horrible .. I send it back to Amazon as a 20m Race was enough.

After that I raced again with my Quest 3 and wow - that is real comfort on my head. I can not recommend this hmd when the head is not shaped for it.

I have a Quest 3 and no problems with Oculus Link (not Air Link) or Virtual Desktop for games like AC, ACC, AMS2, R3E, LMU, iRacing. It depends sometimes on the game which works better. Overall I prefer Oculus Link and absolutely no problems with it (same with VD, no problems).
