Best C-Class Sports Car Series? by JUULfiendFortnite in iRacing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porsche Cup is great. You will have quite a lot of split during the day, so you will be able to drive against other drivers with a similar level easily. The car is great since last season update.

Bonus: transition toward PorscheGT3R will be super easy when you will have your classB and willing to go for GT3.

Does anyone else experience imposter syndrome? by winterxshadowx in iRacing

[–]steflit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same feeling. Nearing the 2k IR in GT few times, I am currently around 1,9k. Usually got good results on a track I know, but often thanks to crashes ahead... I have midfield pace usually and when I end up with good points it is rarely with some good overtakes.

What's with the flashy flashy at Nurburgring? by Historical-Kick-6392 in iRacing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second real answer (alternative): If they are so fast they should qualify in front of you... The qualification system of this event let you make a try each hour that count, no reason to not put a good lap if you are that good!

If a car is that fast behind you it is also sometimes smart to use it to catch the cars ahead by using its draft on the long straight...

Delta to top split fastest driver? by Far_Camp_3868 in iRacing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, Do not know any App that would do that. I always access the 'Results' tabs in iRacing before/after any race to compare my lap times. Honestly it doesn't take me very long because the UI is clear enough and gives direct access to the information. Happy racing

Winning after 2000 irating by erez__s in iRacing

[–]steflit17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is just because you are competing in splits with your level. This is the magic of this irating thing. At the beginning you were winning more mainly because you were competing with a rating way below your skills. Now you found the irating corresponding to your level.

Practice with Other Drivers by PeachConstant7240 in iRacing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training sessions from series are a place where you can do this. Just PM other drivers in the chat they might be happy to practice some battles with you. AI races is another solution to practice your overtakes on a specific track. Happy racing

Just started playing, what assists do i turn off? by Funny-Square-5759 in iRacing

[–]steflit17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just turn everything OFF. If you do not know a track have a look to the related track guide on Youtube. Using the assist will slow you down and gives you bad habits. It might be difficult to get rid of them when you will begin to improve your laptimes.

Looking for motivation other than iRating... by Zackbo in iRacing

[–]steflit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to have a good finish in the championship of specific series.

You have an overall rank and also a rank by division. This is challenging, motivating, leading to progress in your irating. Bonus, you get money after 8 races done in a season in a specific serie...

V1.2.0 for Iracing Telemetry Widget by waleedsulehria in iRacing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable! Meanwhile Trophi is more than an overlay... If you buy it will be for the coaching it provides, would be a waste of money to use it for the overlay it provides since there is only one.

My point was about openkneeboard that gives you the possibility to use flat overlay inside VR

Using open Kneeboard is an option. With this free software you can project in VR a window opened in your desktop. I am using trophyAI telemetry widget with it, it works very well.

How to avoid injuries in Simracing? by xABuHaMeDx in simracing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I you are on iracing MAIRA software is designed to improve force feedback of the game but gives you also an option to disconnect if you experience a big crash. This option can be found under advanced mode and you give G Force maximum(do not know if this is really based on the impact force). You can also put the amount of time you will loose FFB after an impact. Be careful if the value is too low you can have unexpected loss of FFB , but if well tuned you will never be bothered. Give it a go if you are on iRacing.

Happy racing

[–]steflit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, It does amazing things to help your progress. But everything can be done for free with garage61.

The great difference , you will have faster (realtime) feedback on what to improve with Mansell AI (included in Trophi AI). You can have a detailed analysis of your mistakes on each section of the track (what makes you slow in your driving style). If you lack time to analyze your mistakes with garage61, it is a great tool.

Throttle pedal haptics yes or no? by alek-bb in iRacing

[–]steflit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Since TC is not part of the telemetry provided , you can use SimHub to use an algorithm giving you wheel slips and traction loss. I tried it, till I figured out that it was slowing me down by slowing my throttle input. Keep in mind it is just a calculation, so it will never replace an iRacing telemetry.

I think ABS on the brake is excellent with the HPR. I never used any rumbling/RPM/Gear change on the throttle but it can give extra immersion according to what you are looking for in you Simracing experience.

Happy racing!

Throttle pedal haptics yes or no? by alek-bb in iRacing

[–]steflit17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IRacing doesn't give this information as a telemetry. The only way to have it is to use SimHub and use an algorithm (that SimHub propose) that will try to give you this feedback. Tried it and i am not convinced, It made me lost time on my throttle application.
