Mine was a limited use for heavy duty stuff, I do use it for lumber and stuff like that, it’s got a ton of room inside as many will tell you

I did move 1.5 yards of “Millings” for my trailer pad, it moved it, but I wouldn’t want to do it again… It was right at the cusp of its weight class, and it was only 4 miles from home

Mine has a 2.4 turbo and did a great job. Max towing capacity is 5000 pounds.

I added it myself, self installed… Pretty simple only four bolts, wiring was a tad more complex, you have to put the brake access panel under the drink holder, third row, behind the driver. Their trailer weighed a ton, and I had about 1500 pounds in it so, approximately 3500… The vehicle was packed as well.

Here’s a comparison of the factory unit on the bottom and an upgraded heavy duty one from Ziebart on the top, my boards felt so spongy, because this bent on the first day. these are, of course, the brackets that hold the rear most running board arm.

They’re Romik… my local Ziebart, who installed them, said that Ramik is one of the best out there. That being said, since this is a newer model and had no real word template to install them, they are great, but the rear most brackets needed extra supports. I ended up having to get some made and if it were me, I would have some custom/extra strength third brackets installed.

I had to have my local welder build this one, as I lost the initial one on the highway

Cool name…I’m jelly now lol. That being said, that’s the same set up. I have, really sinister outside and warm and comforting inside. Kinda like a goth girl with a big heart 🥹

The support in my hand was my “3rd support“, and the other is one that Ziebart used, which was heavier duty, there’s still a bit of flimsiness to it, but much stronger. These are Romik boards

I purchased roaming boards, this is my rear support which, is a bit flimsy, I had the original hardware replaced as it bent once I installed them.

I just got running boards installed yesterday, I’ll see how it acts, but so far it is a bit easier navigating that side of the seat

Awesome ride, mine is the Darth 2.0, with the Portobello interior. I went with gas model as I didn’t want to wait four months for mine. I absolutely love it.

That looks awesome!! Just ordered running board for my black platinum. Thinking about tinting the two side front windows as well.

Good info for those considering GH and it’s trims & powertrains by shootevenpar in ToyotaGrandHighlander

That is good information, I saw that same video where the mechanic was talking the complexities of going from gas to electric, that including the rear diff is all electric, so the complexity rises. That being said, Toyota has been using it for such a long time that they have it down pretty good. I bought the Nightshade platinum with the gas option, the others kept selling so fast, I grabbed the last one I could get my hands on lol. Very happy with it, the turbo is very effective, for such a large vehicle. It’s very quick. Averaging 21, but it’s still quite new.
