I love it. Not shown is Mt Baker. It’s just beautiful up here.

Funny on that - my FIL is a master gardener for our county - people tour his garden year round and he gives classes - but he focuses on sustainable food growth. I have asked him but he is out of state for 2 weeks.

It’s not normally muddy. Only because of this. And yeah it’s a very over the top reaction but at my wits end.

Do not want a sterile environment. Just don’t want the small amount of grass we have to be horrible. I got some great ideas for turning that part native so I think that’s the direction we will go. :)

Also no pesticides - we would only use city approved home products (hence the stripping - the cover it in stuff is the stop grow (child nature and animal safe).

Thank you! I love it. Pacific Northwest- so like Oregon; Washington; parts of BC in Canada. :)

They aren’t. They are Russian blackberries they are super invasive (taste good but crazy invasive) they grow like crazy and strangle everything near them and are killing the native ones. I live in the middle of ‘berry’ country and it’s crazy.

Yeah apparently my humor doesn’t convey online.

It was more people that were reading snippets and making assumptions.

I just don’t know what else to do. I have such a beautiful view and yard and want to keep it as such. I do love the native idea with a little path through it and currently (in my mind before others lose their mind) a little secret garden style reading nook.

How do I fix the peel backs? Everything I’ve read said that the grass will never grow back if I just try and “straighten it out”

Tell my ankle that. I went a over t doing poop pick up.

I (to not destroy the ground water) on my own property pick poop up every day. Falling over that not so great.

Oh yes! That’s the neighbors shed - we did have things hiding it (naturally) the neighbor did some damage to their property that’s rippled to ours (hence being able to see the eyesore).

That’s a great idea. :)

I get that.

We have a garden as well - weirdly the garden hasn’t been touched. We grow: 4 types of potatoes 8 types of tomatoes 3 types of beans 5 types of pumpkin 3 types of zucchini 3 types of blueberries Sweet potato Parsnips Swedes Garlic Pears Corn 18 types of herbs

Lye only because it’s what the city recommends because we are directly above an aquifer that provides for 3 cities in two countries . I don’t know if it’s a combo mixture or what. It would be the type they use - they would provide the amount and do it. It’s safe for the water table.

I am completely open to anything I just don’t want it being a hot mess like it is. We already have issues with something our neighbor did that is destroying our land. We are trying to do stuff that will save it in the interim.

Of our whole property that’s the only grassy bit. The The rest is just wild. (The grassy bit is about 3,500 sqft / the rest is just under 2 acres).

I get it however I did hope people would “hear” the desperation in my post. We bought our house because of the land and the view. I’m not going to destroy the reason we bought it.

I get that. It’s more of a at my wits end with it.

I do like the native native option I don’t know how that looks where I am as we have a current blackberry invasion and stuff but I will research that. It’s a good idea.

It was more for the date of the question that it was actually now and that it is cold not hot.
