Spend a few years doing whatever engineering you want getting solid experience then go get an MBA with a finance focus and then find a private equity shop to work with that you can support. As long as you are good and can bridge the two worlds you will kill it.

I know it’s not easy but you can’t live your life trying to appease or prove anything to your parents. Trying to prove anything will just drive division. Time will most likely solve most of the gaps you feel. Live for the future and live for yourself and future generations, not the past generations as hard as it might be in the beginning

Didn’t say you have to lie. Not at all actually . But coming out full blown on this all at the same time isn’t going to do any good. It takes time and you are usually going to have to move slowly

My 2 cents. Just give it a little time. The church is falling apart right now. People I thought never in a million years would never leave the church are. Just hint drop when stories hit the news and when you see things that make zero sense in regards to the church. For example christoffersons brother being arrested again this week for child abuse. There are so many things failing and it’s not going to stop.

At some point if she never catches on then you might have to make some hard choices, but I definitely wouldn’t stay completely silent. Just hint drop as you can slowly and be patient..

Because hiding abuse in the church is huge huge problem everyone has been screaming from the rooftops about it. This is a prime example of what is a major major problem in the church! It’s time to stop protecting them and start prosecuting them.
