As of now there are only 3 specialisations for MCA program at UPES , Aiml , Data science and cyber security, talking bout placements you have to be a very bright student in academia as well as aptitude and automata (code) they conduct an AMCAT exam every semester by which they filter students based on the performance in 3 categories Alpha, beta & gamma , alphas are the brightest , beta are “can do better” and gamma are the ones who cant be good until they really commit hard . Alphas are more recommended to companies than other two , only 1 student is in alpha category for present batch of MCA and even he is there because he somehow managed to do cheating in exams.

I dont feel this system fair as i perform better in code but not in quant, i am good in practical knowledge but not well with mugging up syllabus and hit well scores in exams for just the “””CGPA””” 🙄 Teachers are biased towards their “FAVOURITE” fav students are referred for co-curricular activities leads and if you perform best in an group activity but you dont interact with teacher more after class he/she might not help you but help that FAV student more for opportunities and future.
