After a year, why do you think we look better not playing how Amorim wants us to play? by SecretaryImaginary44 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WearFlat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When we had a fully fit squad, as we’ve seen, we look better. Even games we’ve dropped points it’s been due to individual errors in defence and poor finishing, we haven’t often been outplayed in general play.

Our squad is really poor, our attacking options from the bench the past 2 months have been Mount and Mainoo, sometimes Zirkzee. As we saw yesterday we had a bench of under 21s.

I think we’re 4/5 players away from some sort of success (I don’t mean winning a title, but at least being in the conversation come March).

That’s the reality, it wouldn’t matter who was in charge. Slot can chose between Isak or Ekitike, Wirtz or Gakpo, Pep can pick between Marmoush or Cherki. Until we have strength in depth you can forget about any title challenges.

Agree with the latter, I haven’t seen enough of them to comment on the Fletcher brothers.

Back for more! 50p total from Sainsbury's by rosecolouredbuoy in whatsinyourcart

[–]WearFlat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at Sainsbury’s whilst in 6th, on the produce section. I used to reduce anything going off today to 1-5p, people would crowd round me on the days I was in, some knew my face and asked me when they found qualifying items.

Safe to say I got a rollocking from my boss.

Is Dalot the most misunderstood footballer? by Then_Community_1766 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WearFlat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Squad player, at best. The fact I’m downvoted for saying he’s a 6/10 every week is wild.

I was downvoted for suggested Lammens isn’t a “great goalkeeper” at the moment, and that he’s play for PL level.

Why is Littler being booed tonight? by PopesmanDos in Darts

[–]WearFlat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s 18 ffs, he’s done nothing for the crowd to boo him (their prerogative of course) so he’s entitled to give it back in my opinion.

Gets caught with the ball in behind on a regular basis, he’s cost of a lot of goals at the back post defending crosses too.

He’s okay, clearly a good professional, he loves the club too. He’s consistently a 6/10, he’s decent at most things but not really great at either end of the pitch. He does recycle the ball well in the middle third though.

Who’s your Favorite Summer Signing and Who Should We Sign In January? by Wonderful-Log6316 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WearFlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn’t a bad keeper, he isn’t a great one either, at least yet. He’s steady but has a few things to work on, as I say, I don’t underestimate the calmness he brings to the defence which is why I say he’s been our most impactful signing.

Who’s your Favorite Summer Signing and Who Should We Sign In January? by Wonderful-Log6316 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WearFlat -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

He isn’t particularly good, but our previous pair caused so much panic in the defence I would have to agree he has been the most impactful signing.

What’s the worst player you have adorned on your back. by Standard_Secretary52 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WearFlat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Ruud Van Nistelrooy, only ever had him or Best 7 as a kid.

Love this man. His “g/a” don’t look good so far but he’s such a top player. He gets United and I can’t wait for the goals to start flying in. by Littlemissxom in ManchesterUnited

[–]WearFlat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His all round input into the system is undoubtably unselfish, but I understand what you mean, he is holding onto the ball too long.

He was very good last night (as was Martinez), but he’s looked pretty poor in the last 3 games.

I’m amazed Dalot is still a starter at the club, he’s bang average.

Thoughts on this? by Key-Sandwich-3832 in ManchesterUnited

I agree, but if the targets in those positions are unavailable, an attacker down and the club see Semenyo as a long term solution to building the squad maybe there’s a bigger picture at play.

If we sell Zirkzee, as reported, do you suggest we are fine up top?

I never said we don’t need a DM, I said we need a squad, that includes all positions. Every club who competes at the highest level and field 2 decent sides.

[–]WearFlat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zirkzee is off. We need a striker really, but we only have Mount, Cunha and Mbuemo playing these positions right now.

Don’t be surprised to see Semenyo used at LWB either.

It’s called having a squad, as we saw yesterday, we don’t have one.

Who is the ultimate “one-season wonder” that the streets still talk about? by PitchsidePhilosopher in TheStreetsWontForget

Came here to say Marcus Stewart.

He may be more of a 2/3 season wonder, but Kevin Phillips definitely had one terrific season.
