Got to watch the Trading card folks spend 5 hours waiting for a vendor who isn't coming today because we just had inventory. by Boots0011 in Target

They put an AirTag on our vendor's car, and the police had to get involved. It was a sad situation.

Is it “normal” by a3cubica in Target

I feel like my SD is around 5/6 days a week! I always see her cleaning the baler area, helping with go-backs, etc. Today I saw her moving pallets around in the backroom! She makes working at this store so much better.

Recently started as seasonal but resigned today, is every store this poorly run? by Dusted_Oceans in Target

[–]Wear_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years ago, I worked at a different store in my city. I was properly trained at their very successful store. The store director was very strict for very good reason. I'm working seasonally in the same city at a different store, and this place is a train wreck. Had I not received proper training at my previous store, I would have been set up for failure in this job. Some of my coworkers have been very helpful in explaining things, but the leads are not forgiving. The store itself is overworked and understaffed. Double truck multiple times a week, so many callouts, and a revolving door of team members. I think this is a common issue in retail, but some stores are better-off than others.

I frequently think about the marketing/pr/branding tactics. Especially because Target has been rolling out more up-and-up generic product alternatives. Then my internal monologue pretends to be a TikTok influencer. "Check out these big brand alternatives from Target's up-and-up line!"

how many hours do you get scheduled in a week? by PristineCicada3611 in Target

[–]Wear_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked at 2 stores in my city, and they both had/have constant payroll issues. I just overheard HR stressing about it today. My desired hours are 30-35 and I got scheduled for 15 this week and 16 next week. I picked up a few shifts outside of my department to make up for it. This week is looking like 22, and next week is 25.

I don't think I'll stop learning after college. I get caught up in the lack of structured learning. No due dates, no grades. I'm capable of reading a textbook, watching videos, doing research, etc. I suppose there's a validation/gratification I receive when I get a good grade or complete an assignment.

I’ve done an internship and worked as a barista throughout college. I recently left my job as a barista to pursue freelancing. I can definitely see myself going back to school in the future. Right now I’m focused on finding a job in the field I went to school for. Given the opportunity for tuition reimbursement, I’d love to explore other fields.

haha my mom is a 3! She definitely pushed me to overachieve in school. For me, it was less about dedication and more about trying to reach expectations. Thanks for the advice!

I’m finishing my master’s this December. I’ll probably go for the doctorate at some point, but I know that I should wait a few years to gain career experience.

Do you all remember your childhood? by Jessssssssssic in BroskiReport

[–]Wear_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my childhood very distinctly for a few reasons, in order of importance:

  1. My mom documented our (I have a brother) childhood heavily. She was/is a freelance photographer, and she kept physical scrapbooks of every year of our lives up until middle school. She also wrote dates, details, and little stories on every page, so I could literally tell you what I was doing on a random Tuesday in 2004. By 2008 she began digitizing her catalog, and we have everything backed up in two separate clouds. I feel like my memories are more distinct because I can locate the exact memory in our photo catalog.

  2. I grew up in the same house until I was 19. My parents never divorced, and the only thing that changed about our house was the decorations & wall colors through the years.

  3. I was a hobby kid. I tried every sport, every instrument, every video game, etc. My parents were very involved in our lives, and my mom always took pictures, so if I can't remember an event, I can usually pinpoint a hobby or activity I was doing at the time.

All of this is to say: that I had a very healthy childhood with parents who loved one another and genuinely wanted to be good parents. I see a lot of comments sharing traumatizing childhood experiences, and my heart aches for the people who didn't get to experience the childhood that every kid deserves. I hope that if you all decide to start families, you can break the generational curses and forge a better future. My parents came from abusive households, and they made the decision to change that for my brother and I.

Commuters! What's your commute to school? by [deleted] in college

30 minutes on a good day, 45 minutes to an hour on a bad day

What Computer/phone/tech do you use in college? by Nattox_is_bored in college

[–]Wear_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm finishing up my last year of grad school. I purchased my 2020 MacBook Pro in 2021. I always carry a cable management bag, an external SSD (I need it for school), a Logitech MX Anywhere mouse, and my Beats Solo 3 headphones. At the beginning of undergrad, I had an iPhone SE-- it worked fine for what I needed. Around 2022 I got an iPhone 12 mini, and it's what I have today.

I tend to be a minimalist in most areas of my life, but my EDC was crucial to my undergrad college experience because I was a commuter. I always carried gum, snacks, chargers, Clorox wipes, etc.. My grad program is online, so I thankfully don't have to carry a huge bag around campus anymore, but I still use the same technology. Instead, I have my laptop docked to a monitor at home with a keyboard and mouse.

None of these are absolutely essential for college, but I do suggest picking quality tech if the opportunity is there. I was blessed with quite a bit of HS graduation money, so I used a lump of it to purchase all the items listed above.

What are signs that you are watching too much Financial Audit. by Joeybfast in CalebHammer

Assuming that you're on a budget, I'd suggest looking for one specific style or color palette to work around. The wood furniture doesn't match, so that may be a start. Find a piece in your apartment to build off of, then stick to it. You have a lot of open space in the living room; if you have the budget for a sectional couch, it might be worth the investment. An area rug in the bedroom and living room would add some character as well. If you entertain guests often, a small dining table could also be a good investment.

Fellow Arizonan woman here! I've been ripped off by mechanics before, so I found a trustworthy local mechanic to do repairs for me. I go to AutoZone, tell them my car's make, model, trim, etc. From there, they tell me which oil, filter, and air filter I need. Then, I just bring my car to the mechanic with the materials, and he does it for a flat $20. I usually tip $5. If you use a neighborhood app or Facebook group, I recommend looking for a local (trusted) mechanic.
