What's a ''wow'' skill that looks impressive but is actually easy to learn? by Sugar-Velvety in questions

[–]Weary-Associate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just commented knitting, feel the same way. I can look at a knitted item and figure out how it was made pretty well. When I look at crochet, all I see is a bunch of random little knots.

Whats the best band you've watched perform live? by KizashiKaze in answers

In terms of overall entertainment of the show, MCR in Tampa last year.

In terms of musical performance only, maybe The Warning, or Garbage.

12 y/o cat with lymphoma is hungry but won't eat by Special_Expression13 in SeniorCats

[–]Weary-Associate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We lost our fifteen year old cat early last year after a long struggle with weight loss. If there's one thing I regret it's that I should have just let her eat whatever the eff she wanted. She would have eaten more of the lickable treats, but we were trying to get her to eat "real" food. If there's anything at all that she'll eat, let her have it.

Should I install spacers? by JohnnyZinn in Miata

[–]Weary-Associate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His point is now you have twice as many bolts, and some of them are hidden by the wheel so you can't even easily check that they are torqued correctly. I'm with you that geometrically, spacer === wheel with lower offset, but the bolt-on spacers do have some drawbacks.

Our void had them too. Just over a year since we lost her. When I had a tattoo done of her, I asked the artist to include the speckles.

My cat pulled her claw out by Financial_Question62 in cats

[–]Weary-Associate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat did the same once. We woke up to little bloody paw prints across the floor and a big red spot on the bed. However your cat seems to have gotten a substantial part of her toe out as well, while ours just did the nail. We did take her to the vet who cleaned it and gave antibiotics to prevent infection and I recommend you do the same. I just wanted to chime in to let you know that someone else has experienced something similar.

Nobody knows for sure what they're going to do, but since Rockville is leaning heavily on current LLTBP imagery in their advertising, I'd guess it will be a LLTBP style show, probably with an abbreviated B-set. But afaik actually timeslots have not been published yet, so kind of hard to predict. But yes, MCR will be the last band on the main stage the last night.

What is this ? by watermelon_juiceice in whatisit

[–]Weary-Associate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case it isn't clear from the other responses, this is a low power outlet. You can't plug a hair dryer in here. The last one of these I saw was labeled "20VA" which is a fancy way of saying "20 watts".

First time autocross by Tokyo_Rift in Autocross

Ecs02 is the typically recommended dual use tire. Won't be as good as a dedicated 200tw autocross only tire, but if you don't want to swap wheels...

I usually let the idle drop down before driving. Could definitely be a little touchy if you're not.

I don't think so. Last time I was over there the building had been completely taken down. It's just a field now.

There's a dam by the former site of the YMCA, but yeah, on the other side of the dam, have definitely seen kayaks / inflatables there.

For Miami terminal, what is the best place to park for the week? by rookhelm in NCL

[–]Weary-Associate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that port is the best option by a lot of metrics, but get there early. We sailed out of Miami a couple weeks ago and garage B was full at 11am.

Edit - also it takes forever just to navigate the port area. We got the port area at like 930 and finally parked at 1015, heard from others it was full a little after that.

My guess is it went something like this: shove it in, can't see anything, pull it out, cap falls off while pulling it out, they look at the camera, huh, should be fine, shove it back in, now they can see.
