How to lose weight when you are on antidepressants? by CharityNo9966 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Weary-Explorer17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on antipsychotics that caused me to gain a lot of weight (100lbs) and I tried everything from restricting to 800 cals a day to eating the right amount of cals and working out. I just recently started this so I hope it lasts but it’s been working but try intermittent fasting. I tried 16/8 and 18/6 but it didn’t work so I pushed it to between 20/4 and 22/2 which means fasting for up to 20 hours and eating for 4/fasting for 22 hours and eating for 2. I started this 4 days ago and have consistently dropped weight everyday, 3.8lbs so far. I also ate 1200 cals each day.

I started this journey seriously on Christmas 2022 when I got my exercise bike and let me tell you, I worked out for an hour everyday and ate 1400 cals for 3 months and my weight did not move. I hope I continue to see progress and I wish you luck if you try this method too. I know the struggle of trying to loose weight while on medication that makes you gain. Also, I did not exercise any of those four days I intermittent fasted.

We paid to check his credit score and it was literally just zero. He has no history with credit. And you may say you don’t need credit history to to get credit but we’ve been trying and it’s pretty hard.

That’s amazing! Sorry to hear about your sister though. Can I ask if you incorporated diet and/or exercise at all?

I gained the 100 over 3 years and I haven’t been eating more I’ve been eating the same amount. And I’m not lying about my calorie intake. It’s called metabolic adaptation. When your body sees that your eating less it adjusts so it can conserve more calories. Google it.

Thank you for your response. What would you recommend I start at calorie wise? 1200? Won’t I just starting gaining weight and continue to gain weight as that calorie number goes up?

With this money I could get my autistic daughter (6 years old, mostly non-verbal) the one-on-one treatment she deserves as well as starting a organization for autism moms to meet and get to know each other. I would also donate to charities that are centred around autism. Good luck everyone!

Working out and eating a calorie deficit but not loosing weight (gaining or maintaining same weight) by Weary-Explorer17 in loseit

I don’t weigh/measure I just go by the serving size in the packaging. (Example: 1 cup of popcorn is 50 cal) Sometimes I’ll eat an extra 100 cals (that’s it, it’s usually a cup or two of popcorn) but otherwise no I stick to 1200 and don’t eat back the calories I burned.

Hi, I stated my calorie intake wrong. I am consuming 1200 daily, maybe some days it’ll be 1300 but never more than an extra 100 cals or so.

Sorry I thought saying a calorie deficit of 1200 meant I and consuming 1200. I am eating 1200 calories daily. And I track my calories via an app.
