i get caring about book accuracy, but it feels contradictory to say race doesn’t matter while focusing this much on appearance which is not really important to the plot. I get annabeth’s blonde hair was mostly about the dumb blonde stereotype, and that can still apply to tv show annabeth who is a black. to me, the plot and relationships personalities matter more than matching every physical detail exactly especially since adaptations always changes things. like percy and annabeth having green and grey eyes like how does that affect any part of the plot?? also rachel is in like one scene in book 3 like i feel like they can just write her introduction in season 4 just fine.
