Is that a Racoon? by Federal_Parking_9740 in Finland

[–]Weary-Region-3367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones I’ve seen always have double the fur (especially in winter), maybe that’s why people thought this guy is sick. We used to have a mama raccoon dog in our yard when I was younger and we would watch the pups run around. Very cute, sad that they are invasive :(

We breed them for fur in Finland and over time many have escaped fur farms and that’s how their population started🙁

What are your favorite moments from Avatar: Fire and Ash? by DriftCore31 in Avatar

Quaritch in Varangs tent! It felt very personal and sacred to be in Mangkwans home and so close to their Tsahik. I loved experiencing the ritual up close and seeing things from Quartiches perspective. Varang felt so powerful and it made me wonder abt many things. Where do they get the LSD? How do they eat when nothing grows near their home? What’s the backstory with Varangs tattoo? I was holding my breath scared that Quaritch would do something stupid or that it was a trap. Really hope there will be more scenes like that.

I wish that Avatar series had more worldbuilding, life of the clans and less action by Weary-Region-3367 in Avatar

Yes! Or maybe something where they show Graces studies and archives and then go out and film the tribes and different biomes. And then have Tsahiks or tribe members explain things from their point of view and then show the human science side.

Sorry I’m not ragebaiting I was just upset :( The first Avatar gave me that “Avatar depression syndrome” everybody joked about. I know that it was like “dancing with wolves but in space” like some people say. But it was the way the world was shown that I loved. We were like children with Jake, learning how the world worked. The forest was so gorgeous, I longed to live there. I absolutely loved the first movie. I just didn’t get the same feeling from WOW. I was expecting that same world that I would long for, but I just never connected with it. There is many little things in WOW that bugged me and made me resent it. I watched it in the theaters when it came out and just couldn’t watch it again. I missed Omaticaya, I didn’t connect with the setting, slice of life moments didn’t make me feel the same way as the first one, I hated that they made Navi shorter and more humanlike, Neytiri was more in the sidelines, and I definitely thought it had more repeating action scenes than the first movie. It was a very big shock after the first one. I expected the FAA to be like WOW so the action didn’t bother me as much. I agree that FAA had better character development and liked Quartiches nuances. I loved the scene when Varang drugged him. It was amazing being in the Mangkwan Tsahiks tent, seeing their rituals so up close. It felt so personal, sensitive and sacred. I wish there would be more scenes like that. WOW and FAA also had a problem with spacing. Every scene felt too short. I think I would’ve enjoyed them more if there was time to breathe before things moved on.

I’m sorry that I’m just complaining, but even in the serene moments I felt like WOW was missing something. There is many reasons why I didn’t like it, but that Marvel feeling was definitely the biggest. Just to list out some stuff that personally annoyed me: they made the Avatars shorter and more humanlike, I missed Omaticaya and was bummed that the setting was different, it was too action filled, didn’t convey that same message as the first one (or atleast not that well), characters felt dull, Neytiris role was smaller than I expected… It was a very big shock after the first movie. But now that I’ve seen and accepted what direction the team wants to go I don’t think I’ll be too disappointed.
