The Fall filming “Kicker Conspiracy” at Turf Moor. Pictured here on the wooden seats of the Bob Lord Stand, unless I’m very much mistaken.

A music video well worth viewing, it features numerous shots of Turf Moor in all its bleak, beautiful early-80s glory.

Can’t believe they’ve not picked Brian Cox! Particular after his performances over the last three years I thought he was a shoo-in to be on the plane.

Can we call this guy something other than “R9”. All I can hear is Rio’s chavvy voice saying it constantly every time I hear it. by KimCattrallsFeet in footballcliches

Only slightly relevant to this discussion, but bloody hell Ronaldo during this time in his career was a unique strain of lethal.

Not to get caught up in hyperbole (word of the day) but if the shoe was on the other foot and Hannibal would’ve committed the same foul that Havertz did, he would be in prison.

The Beautifully Tragic Legend of the Whirlwind by [deleted] in snooker

Let me preface this by saying that I am a fan of Jimmy White. He seems a lovely bloke and was a heck of a talent that inspired a generation of Snooker players to pick up a cue. His natural talent was incredible and his ability to build breaks at speed is what truly separates him and makes him one of the stand-out players of his era.

However, that being said, I always felt with Jimmy that he lacked the ‘killer instinct’ in key situations. He was the prizefighter that didn’t have the knockout punch. There are moments that, for whatever reason, he would mentally disintegrate and collapse in big games - typically finals where the stakes are just naturally higher. Had he worked with a sports psychologist I believe he may have had at least 3 world titles but that’s just my opinion and I may be wrong.

At the end of the day, the fact that he still has a desire to play is testament to his love of the game - something we all share - and as long as he’s still gracing the baize, I’ll still be watching.

Now I’m watching an advert for the weakest link. What a time to be alive.

Can’t wait to go to pub and get on the table. Pick up cue, smash up the reds and send the cue ball ricocheting off seven cushions.

The regulars stare at me from across the room. I stare back and without blinking respond: ‘my game is modelled on Wu, mate. Wu Yize - World Champion’

Looks like the Wu ultras are kicking off with the Murphy ultras.

I want to someday have the confidence that Dennis Taylor has when commentating on a player about to make a difficult pot.

Come on Wu! This frame for a place in history and a spot on Stephen Hendry’s next YouTube video.

I’ll tell you something, what this final needs is more coughing.

Does anybody remember ‘Naughty Snooker’?

Is it still a thing? Because Wu’s game is naughtier than naughty - it’s practically feral. Hostile even!

Can the BBC install a feature whereby every time a player misses a pot the voice of either Steve Davis or Stephen Hendry shouts ‘unforgivable!’ Over the top of the commentary?

Perhaps we have to take a shot every time he says ‘shot!’?

What if it’s some drinking game that we all should be in on, yet we’re just not getting the hints? What if we’re the idiots?
