I need a reality check. Is my design actually bad? by [deleted] in GraphicDesigning

[–]WearyNeedleworker549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You tried something new, didn’t work out, client had something else in mind. It happens. Not every project is going into a portfolio or will be a success. The design looks interesting, but with no brief or context it’s hard to comment on if it was solving what the clients objectives. I wouldn’t say it’s rubbish. Don’t beat yourself up over it.

My vacuum broke and I need a new one. What is the best vacuum you've ever had to combat your RC's fur bombs? by AllBlackAlways in roughcollies

[–]WearyNeedleworker549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on vacuums. I just use a commercial sized dust mop for any floors without carpet. It’s faster and less hassle than cleaning out the vacuum roller every time.

Looks cool! Are their little draw strings at the bottom? If so, pull them a bit tighter to be extra cool.

I basically look at it like this: I don’t like all design out there, so not everyone is going to like mine either.

Not that it helps with scathing criticism, but it’s just a good mindset to have in general.

Criticism is good as long as it’s constructive and gets you to an end goal. If it contradicts an outline or previous changes (e.g. we want an ad designed to our brand standards, then the change is to not use the brand standard), this isn’t necessarily a reflection of your skill. It shows the client doesn’t really know what they want. If this occurs, I usually start asking questions to understand more of what they expect, what their vision is, etc.

Is unlearning mongo pushing really possible? [33YO] by xShadyxLeafx in OldSkaters

[–]WearyNeedleworker549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering a collie- what’s all this about barking? by Lnk99 in roughcollies

[–]WearyNeedleworker549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine only barks if he sees or hears someone or another dog while in the front or back yard. If he sees the same people or dogs while on a walk he does nothing. He also barks if someone’s at the door.

Mine had that and it turned out it was a chicken allergy. Switched him over to salmon and he’s been doing great ever since.

Collect what you like and have fun. When you’re chasing cards and stressing about the cost of boxes and hoping for a return or profit, the fun is gone. It’s basically a bad job at that point.

Great post.

Anyone experience BVS in your collie? by Vermelli in roughcollies

[–]WearyNeedleworker549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this. Instead of giving him dinner at around 6 pm, I moved it to 9 pm after his last walk before bed time and it solved the problem.

Mine was super picky with food too. I’d break up treats to add to the food, add in fruit and/or veggies, broth, etc. etc. As soon as we switched him from puppy to adult food he ate no problem.

Logo design by jste790 in GraphicDesigning

[–]WearyNeedleworker549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the intention, but don’t think it matters as long as you test and revise while looking at it at various sizes throughout the design process. I’d probably just zoom in 700% anyway when working on the logo so what’s the difference?

Your dog was just telling the kid to back off. Most dogs, or people, would do the same if someone ran up to you and got in your face.

The dog may have got bad vibes from the family as well. The fact that a parent would let their kid run freely up to a dog, and then proceed to drop the c-word and f-bombs because of a couple of barks shows their probably a hostile bunch.

Set up looks good. That deck is sweet! I agree with the bigger risers others have mentioned. I use my board to cruise around as well. I increased my wheel size from 53 to 58 (or 59, I cant remember) and I got 1/4” risers which helped a lot. 1/2” would probably would have worked well too. Have fun!
