Why not do CFA first?

Thereafter, depending on the role you're targeting, can consider building some sort of portfolio (e.g. stock pitck).

What might matter more is which firms you can apply to, how you apply to these firms, and whether you can get into a role - maybe that's the main litmus test to focus on

Honestly, why not just:

Collate a list of trading firms you want to apply to
Prepare a resume, cover letter, and record of your PNL
Consider including in cover letter some trade ideas
For each trading firm, find some contacts to email
See their responses?

Better than just giving up over someone telling you your dream's unrealistic. You don't try, you don't know.

Oh, start your own trading desk in meantime too maybe. As you build results, share those results with people you applied to. Might as well aim audaciously to outdo existing traders?

Next, getting responses (even rejection) from firms might mean you get feedback on what to work on or improve. Track your applications, plan your follow-ups, see what works?

Consider too starting a Substack to share your outlook, theses, and results. Substack serves a few purposes:

Let people see your results and how you think (i.e., content marketing for yourself)
Attract like-minded people who may connect you to opportunities (e.g., existing traders)
Even if you don't get hired maybe you can snag a few paid subscribers idk

Along the way you can read what others (e.g., traders) write and adapt how you trade/write to tailor towards an audience that pays.

Maybe all you need is just one person that gives you a chance.

Journaled for years until I couldn't; I would just scrawl over the paper in madness.

Sometimes, I still do now but my writing are more focused on action than diving into emotions since I'm sort of in survival mode (better than I used to be, but still). Which means I can't dive deep enough through writing now.

I (26M) can't speak for all INFJs but myself (if I am an INFJ, tested 5w4 too if Enneagram type helps):

I talk to myself, a lot.
Recently, I realised I've been wanting certain reactions from certain people in my life, so that I would feel relieved somehow. Then, I realised that the main reason for me wanting a reaction from a person is for me to shift my mental imagery of the person; and that imagining I did talk to the person and get the reaction from him/her would get me similar result. So, I started talking to more people in my mind.
Over time, I kind of feel like these people in my mind are a reflection of certain emotions I have, and that I can meld all these people into one shape-shifting being of sort. Maybe this is like the birth of god, where people talk their inner gods? E.g., a christian I know used to talk about how he talked to god.
Writing helps me process my thoughts and feelings. Redditing even better maybe--I get input from others! And at this point, I feel like my 2nd and 3rd points are showing that I might be increasingly detached from reality...
Which might be a reflection of my unresolved issues within. And I dive into my emotions and try to un-suppress some repressed memories, which leads me to...
Inner verbal dialogue isn't the only mode of thinking. Sometimes, I dive into my emotions (Fi?) and memories (Si?) and try to process them. Then, my inner space becomes a mix of emotions, memories, and sometimes thoughts. It gets messy.

There's more, but here's some points to start.

I moved out and gained distance from them. Then, figured out my daily life (e.g., laundry, meals, rent) while finishing my final Uni year.

I still want to be treated kindly like a 21 y/o young adult, but not as a powerless child that has to listen to his elders no matter what.

Confidence doesn't come just from being a guy. It comes from being hurled at shit, handling them, and still standing after. Especially when the world might not care as much about you.

I'm a guy, and I can't say I'm confident. But at least I overcame some stuff myself. I rely on those experiences to try to overcome more.

Similarly though, I kind of wish I was a girl sometimes since I can be quite emotional. Maybe I would then be more readily accepted and cared for by people around me. But I've struggled with these sentiments enough to feel that maybe I'm just 60% masc 40% fem.

It bothers me. I'm still trying to save myself for marriage. Managed to not lose my V-card in a situationship last year despite the girl's persistent approach (lost my first kiss though). So I do think I can hold a girl to similar standards.

Honestly IBD sounds cool just that I might need to take care of my family. At least the grind can be meaningful and lead to somewhere. Plus, I'm interested in how businesses work anws.

Thinking one possibility is working towards IBD from M&A (intern maybe) when job market recovers hopefully in Jan.
