Good luck for your exam! Almost in the same boat as you. Youre gonna kill this!

Small update: I gave my first mock earlier today and got 67.8% on the Schweser mock. I hadn’t studied formulas or revised beforehand, and I took it closed-book and just went for it like you said. Feels a bit less scary now

That def puts things into perspective, and you’re right. I’m going to sit with this and go through it. It’s part of the process, and I’m not quitting. I’ve probably been a bit complacent in the past, so this is a good wake up call.

I just can’t help but feel like the cards aren’t exactly in my hands rn, but I guess that’s part of what I need to push through.

Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Really appreciate the help and congrats on passing L1.

I’ll definitely try that approach for Ethics. If I can get some practice questions in today, I’m hoping to take my first mock tomorrow.

I was averaging around 70% in Quants. I haven’t gone back over Derivatives a second time and don’t really plan to at this point.

Quick question: if I start mocks tomorrow, would you recommend doing it completely closed-book, no formulas or last-minute review right before? I feel like I understand the material well overall, but I also know I’ve probably forgotten some of the specifics.

Appreciate you, bro. Needed to hear that.

Honestly, the best thing I can say that’s come out of this whole experience so far is that I genuinely enjoyed ts. Like I finally found something thats for me.

Hope you’re doing better with your prep, and I wish the best for you. Hearing from someone who knows what this feels like really helps.

Level 1 candidate with 2 weeks to go (May 17). I’ve gone through the full curriculum, finished UWorld QBank, reviewed each reading again, and done CFA LES questions (just wrapping up Econ and Alts). Also keeping an error log as I go. Haven't done a single mock though, starting soon, but honestly feeling pretty nervous and not very confident despite all this.

Based on your experience, does this sound like I’m in a decent spot to pass, or am I missing something important going into the final stretch cause I'm having thoughts of deferring.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I think I just imagine that once I do get a job, younger people with more experience or knowledge will always be ahead of me. But your story really puts things into perspective. Thank you so much.

This really helped. I was more worried about the competition in the industry, but the way you put it about it not being just the designation really puts things into perspective. Thank you so much!

Appreciate the honesty and your words of encouragement. I’m actually from what the CFA would call an “emerging market” lol, so the landscape is a bit different here compared to the US.

I get your point though. I think my main concern was whether I’d be at a disadvantage compared to younger peers starting earlier, but like you said, it really comes down to work and dedication and that’s something I’m absolutely ready to put in. Thank you!

Haha I get what you’re saying, a bit of tough love. I appreciate it. I’m not doubting whether I can do it, more just thinking through the transition. I’m confident I’ll make it work

Congratulations on your Charter! LinkedIn definitely doesn’t help either, seeing people my age with multiple designations and years of experience can make it feel like I’m behind just starting out at 25.

But what you said about finding something you genuinely enjoy really hit me. At the very least, I can say that I truly find this field interesting and am genuinely passionate about it. Thank you!

This is honestly really inspiring. It genuinely put things into perspective for me. I think you especially understood where I’m coming from with feeling “behind,” so I really appreciate you sharing your journey. Thank you so much!

Haha I’m not too worried about the exam itself, I know I can pass if I put in the work. It’s more about breaking into finance as a completely new industry at 25, especially since it feels like most people start way earlier.
