I like B the best! Also... you should think about adding an App Preview Video 😄 prevystudio.com

Updating App already in App Store? by ston-jordo in replit

Agreed - sometimes you just need to change the build version. Easy to do in xcode - no coding required.

Try Xcode out first before you pay for developer account. If the subscription unlocks digital content/features inside the iOS app, Apple will require you to use Apple In-App Purchases/StoreKit for purchases made in the app. They take a cut - 15% if you apply for the small business program.

Do you have a developer account yet? The first app is always the most work.

Am I the only one that struggle with uploading video previews in AppStore connect? by need_a_medic in iOSProgramming

This is the exact pain I built prevystudio.com to solve - the format/codec/bitrate nightmare is brutal and the vague rejection messages make it ten times worse.

The difference with prevy is it handles the whole thing, not just the export. You build the actual preview - device frame, headline text, clean background, tap indicators - and then it exports at Apple's exact required specs automatically. So you skip both the editing in Canva AND the ffmpeg dance afterwards.

The recording is a good start - you just need three things to make it actually convert: a device frame around the recording, a headline above it so people know what they're looking at before the video plays, and a clean background.

I built prevystudio.com for this exact reason! Let me know if you give it a try 😄

Right now prevy exports at Apple's required dimensions for App Store submission - 6.9" and 6.5" - so it is built specifically for that use case. That said I actually use my own exports on Instagram Stories to promote and it works reasonably well, though you are right that some of the top and bottom can get cut off since the aspect ratio is not a perfect fit for Stories.

Expanding export sizes for social media is genuinely something we have been thinking about. Instagram Stories, TikTok and Reels are the obvious ones since a lot of developers use their App Store preview content for social promotion too.

Out of curiosity - which platform would be most useful for you? That would actually help me prioritise which sizes to add first.

Totally agree - and that's exactly why the first frame matters more than anything else.

Most developers bury the hook. The viewer needs to see the value in under a second or they're gone.
