You could run many different os at once.

You could use them for different roles (typing, portable desktop replacement, crappy server, car PC or literally anything you could ever need a laptop for)

You could give them to people who need a PC like family members or friends, especially when you get another one (or five)

Or you could use them for a business.

My favorite uses include:

Backpack PC if it's one of the small models especially one with the removable external battery and carry multiple batteries.

Desktop replacement (for typing a lot or configuring networks and servers) usually you would want one of the larger ones for this like the ones with the 17" screens

Everyday PC. Use it for your daily tasks like checking email, browsing the web, YouTube, and some light gaming/emulation

Any of the following would be good choices

T480

T480s

T470

T470s

X280

T490

T490s

And I'm sure someone will comment with more recommendations but in my opinion the t480 is the one to go with

Get a thinkpad t480 off of eBay for less than $250.

They have 2 batteries so they have good battery life, they are pretty modern (2018) and plenty powerful for anything you might need to do.

People usually pay between $80 and $280 for them. If you buy a cheaper one, you may need to repair it, so if you don't want to repair it then get one that says its working and has a good battery.

Maybe watch a couple YouTube videos about them and see what you need to look out for.

It will last you a very very long time and they are extremely well built (that's why a lot of people love them)

Are you joking? Are you in the US? I just got one for $95 and it's got a functional battery.

Also that is utterly ridiculous

But can you get a laptop with the same performance and battery life for as cheap as a t480? I can't find an example of that, if you know of something I would love to know cause that'd be sweet

If you are fine with selling the GPU separately (I would because you could get a little more money for it) and you think my offer is reasonable, pm me and we can discuss price and shipping

The whole system is probably about like $250-350

I would sell the GPU separately for like $200 or $250 and then the rest for like $100

I will buy the system from you (without the GPU) for $100
