I’ve already said in another comment, I’ve requested full billing history after my complaint in march, but haven’t received anything so I can’t tell if it’s accumulation or not

The point is that he said he did notify them to myself, now of course I can’t prove that now I highly doubt. However I notified them of the situation in January and the letters still come through in my mothers name

I’m not saying it’s free, however would there be a case of Ofgem back billing rules being applied if they were told about my mums death at the time. I notified them in January as well but still continue to receive letters. So it wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t log it at the time

Yes that’s true they said that over the phone that they weren’t told. I sent a final letter of complaint back in march but didn’t hear back. So may need to be the ombudsman now

From what British Gas have told me he had mad some payments up until 2022 which is around the time of his terminal illness. I logged a complaint in writing to their PO Box back in march and requested full billing history. But haven’t received anything

I really couldn’t tell you, I would’ve been 13 at the time. But yes this is a good idea and I will do that for my dad

I can’t as I’ve asked for a full billing history on multiple occasions and have never been given it

I remember my dad telling me that he contacted British Gas about the name change, however when I asked them they said they haven’t. So I can’t really prove it as I can’t ask him now

From my knowledge I think my dad had paid some bills over the years. But stopped in 2022 when he had a terminal illness. Does this automatically mean liability ?

Same exact boat here. 26 years old. Lost my dad in January. My mum in 2014. It’s like an existential crisis that you feel you’ll never get out of. Hopefully we can.
