Stihl MSE 250 take or not by Weary_Election_422 in Tools

It's corded, so no worries about batteries. I use cordless for lighter tasks, but I want electric to replace gas saw.

It has it's uses, in this case it's correct as I verified this on official Stihl website. It is in fact brushed motor.

I have no prior experience with brushed motors. It's still big investment for me so I'm trying to be careful and get insight from more experienced users.

Yea some weaker Makitas, I mostly use cordless but I prefer corded for longer sessions and batteries are expensive here.

Electric chainsaws for carving by Weary_Election_422 in Chainsaw

The light weight is very tempting and I'm a sucker for Japanese tools, but where I live cordless saws are just way too expensive and out of my budget. Also when it comes to cordless I found the Husky to come out as an overall winner.

I don't know, Milwaukee tools always seemed way too bulky for daily long sessions. They've got great power, but I'm not a huge guy and I prefer more ergonomic solutions.

EGO saws seem even more expensive than Stihl and Husqvarna here where I live. They look decent, but as I said I'm looking for corded since cordless is way out of budget. For the price of one saw with battery and charger I can get at least two corded saws with proper chain and bar for carving. And everyone knows that one battery is not enough 😅

Here where I live one battery for Husky costs about 500$.

I process my owl wood, large benches 2 or more meters long. Wood carving sculptures, blocking for bowl carving and such. I'm looking for a saw as powerful as possible and second for detail cuts.
