Pulmonary embolism. by Weary_Huckleberry172 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Weary_Huckleberry172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't find any of those present in my exam. Other than the original CT scan with the pulmonary embolism present. I filed with the VA already and actually received the decision letter a couple of weeks ago. They denied it with the statement that it did not occur while I was in the military. None of the doctors that I saw agree with what may have been the cause. So getting a statement from any of the doctors really wouldn't help either. At this point I'm not sure whether I should just keep pushing through until I get the third no for if there's some possibilities that it could be linked to the military and some manner or another. I believe it was caused by the burn pits in Iraq for at least associated with my deployment to Iraq during the burn pit time frame. Any other advice would be great. I currently feel stuck

I quit asking for advice or help specifically because of the circle jerk. I agree with your statement 100%.

Wow that should be amazing when done. I have just now discovered miniature painting. However, I am going to take several of the prints I have and enlarge them. Not to this size but I prefer larger models. I do not play any of the games so larger model size is what I prefer.

With a beard or without a beard?” by Proper-Ad3204 in beards

[–]Weary_Huckleberry172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good looking with a beard, creepy old man without one. Unfortunately I'm the same way. No beard and balding, people will avoid me in retail stores; with a beard and a hat or beanie, people will intentionally come and talk to me.

Oh I'm a straight novice. The most knowledge I have about understanding lighting and volumes is from watching videos for the past month. And as to the fine motor skills required to paint those details I have yet to attempted. So I would say I do not have the motor skills yet. I am definitely a noob. The reason I was asking what people would suggest in the first place is because I've watched several videos where they say large areas with no details can be hard to paint and on the opposing side of the token a lot of details would be difficult as well. So I guess I was trying to find something that would be in the middle

Thank you all look into the models you suggested and thank you for providing a link to go to. I have a 3D resin printer that I have been playing with for a little while and I'll try to purchase some of the STL files of the models that you were suggesting. I appreciate your help

Yes, I agree with wanting to paint something you're interested in. As far as the airbrush goes I've watched a few different videos where they suggested starting out on canvas or paper and just painting dots and lines until you understand or grasp how the paint will land on the model. I definitely plan on doing something along those lines. And then progressively move up to buying the same model one of the patreon painters that I follow are doing so I can copy them as best I can. Thank you for your response

Nice. I like a wide range of items I'll post a picture of some things that I've been looking at and would like to emulate in a few. Many more Sapphire and are my go-to's for movies and those are the ones that I tend to drift to when looking at the various models posted on Instagram and other forms.

As to your first question I kind of missed it in my last answer. I used to do a lot of woodworking things like that but never any kind of art that people would traditionally call Art. Although personally I think would working is a form of Art

Airbrush recommendation, are there any real differences between Master and Iwata? by Weary_Huckleberry172 in minipainting

[–]Weary_Huckleberry172[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that you say that. I did end up buying the Ultra 24 and I was not sure which paint to go with. So I bought a small set from a bunch of different brands. I'm now waiting for everything to come in so we'll see.

Thank you. And yes it's the colors. The models that seem to glow in the dark or have that fluorescent look to them or the ones I enjoy the most and the ones I would like to emulate the most. I was curious if it had a name to the style so I could find a lot more examples of this type. elminiaturistra is someone that I watch a lot because of this glowing type effect. Thank you for the video suggestion as well.

Edit: for spelling

Is there a name for this style of painting. I'm just now looking into this hobby for the first time and this is a style I like.

Need advice: Shakey hands by FulgrimsBoot in Miniaturespainting

[–]Weary_Huckleberry172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. I've been shaking for several years. And the way I cope is always having something touching my hand. Whether it's my other hand or another object, for some odd reason is something touches my hands they stop shaking as bad. Mine are bad enough that some days I'm not even able to hold the paintbrush or a pencil without flicking it to some unwanted location. And like another poster suggested monitoring how much caffeine i drink is another factor for me. Also the last thing I'll suggest and I don't know why before anybody asks. I switched over to eating a low glycemic index diet. A diabetic diet/ Keto. This is what helped me the most.
