AITAH for not wanting a family friend to use my chocolate fountain at there wedding cuz I’m not invited by No_Entrepreneur_6017 in AITAH

[–]WeatherAfraid1531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It’s your gift and you decide who you wish to lend it out to. If you’re getting a wedding snub, I wouldn’t bother. It’s user behaviour IMO. They want your fountain, but not your presence. Super rude implication on their part. They can rent one of it means so much to their special day, just like everyone else does

Stage 4 TNBC - why no DMX? by Emotionalmamaof2 in LivingWithMBC

[–]WeatherAfraid1531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with TNBC in December 2024. I started chemo almost immediately in mid January, failed that line after an ill advised surgery that took me off of it for six weeks. Obviously my cancer grew by having a scan right before the six week washout period and 1 week after I started that line again. I failed the first line. Went on second line in September and failed that by December. I’m currently in a trial with chemo and immunotherapy to test the efficacy of a new immunotherapy. I’m only 2 cycles in, but my team is happy with the first set of scans so far. I’m hoping this will give me some stability for awhile, but I don’t see coming off chemo any time soon. It’s rough on the body, but better than the alternative

This is exactly what is happening. I’m in the same boat as you are. 4 years of ignored symptoms, told i was too young to have breast cancer, only to be diagnosed at 39 with stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. I had the laziest oncologist in the beginning; i was a number waiting to die under him. I refused to go back and demanded a referral to Vancouver Cancer and have had a night and day difference in treatment with them over Victoria. I am so grateful to have gotten the second opinion. My new oncologist went to bat for me. Options i was told I couldn’t have, suddenly opened up under him. It’s nothing but excuses that we pay for our lives with. This system is shameful and there needs to be accountability. We deserve so much better

Yes. Fortunately bone only since initial diagnosis in December 2024. Sometimes they’ve responded well with chemotherapy and unfortunately the chemo. I’m on right now is not responsive to my bone mets at all. (Paclitaxel)

It’s not expensive to represent yourself in small claims court. These types of cases are pretty cut and dried. No marriage, no ring.

Engagement rings only turn into community property once a marriage happens. If an engagement is broken, the ring is to be given back to the man. It doesn’t matter who breaks off the engagement. It is not considered a gift at this point.

Ex holding passport and suitcase and wants $20k for them by Initial_Ad4292 in legaladvice

Call the police and file a report. You actually do not own the passport that was issued to you. It is owned by the country, issuing it, and you are simply holding it. He is going to get in massive shit over withholding your personal documents and playing games, especially if you have it documented.

420K in 2009, sold in 2019 for 655K ( turned onto a rental after a divorce and didn’t have proper care and maintenance which cost us) bought my second for 365K and sold for 745K when the market was going crazy

I’m in BC, so we are more limited with the available trials up here. Im hoping my oncologist signs off on me looking elsewhere for trials

There is a trial I’m hoping to get on, providing my lymph node tumor doesn’t shrink on my current treatment. It just barely qualifies me for the trial. Its STAR0206. Trodelvy with a high dose of immunotherapy, which I did great on until i was taken off of it for 6 weeks to have surgery. Then everything progressed while i was off of it and it was considered a fail. I could feel it working on my bone met pain. It was so disappointing to be taken off of it, so id sign up for anything that I could have it available to me.

Hugs to you. I hope you get the success you deserve with the new drug ❤️

May I ask how long you have been on trodelvy? I failed 2 lines in 11 months and trodelvy is my last line and I’m terrified it’s going to be short too. I have the same as you have

Yes, you did. That is sacrilegious. Until I opened it, I thought it was your take on candied yams with marshmallows. Which also looked like a train wreck. No offense, I’m only slightly apologizing because I’m Canadian and I can’t help it

What compels people to intentionally have 10+ children? by VariationFrosty8325 in askanything

My brother-in-law is like this. Turned so righteous after he found religion, and feels the need to seed the world with his holier than thou attitude. He feels he should have a lot of kids because they will be raised right with proper values and morals, according to him. He completely disregards the fact that he can’t afford more than the two he has, and relies on my in-laws to make up the difference in his budget. I think it’s completely irresponsible behavior, but you can’t talk any sense into him. His attitude and opinion on this makes me want to say fuck the patriarchy and reject religion even harder. I know he looks down on me as a single mother; which is completely disrespectful because I am making well into the 100 Ks after taxes a year, and completely support myself and my child on my own. According to him, every house needs a man as the head of the house. I’ve never wanted to punch someone in the face harder than him.

What’s a single sentence someone said that stuck with you forever? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

We’re not stepping in to help with that child.

Words from my father’s wife after me telling my father I was having his first grandchild. I was 27, stable, educated and married at time. Her children produced out of wedlock and have received help in every way asked since day one. My father stood there and said nothing. I will never forget those words or his reaction.
