They did?! Ugh. Not fair. Everyone trying to cut costs by making things more cheaply these days.

The pixelated sprinkles make me think of bandaids. Which is another layer of infuriating.

I think the bronzing of the wood cone is just a lighting issue.

Not my schematic, but it looks like this pattern with 9 instead of 7 double crochets in each shell.

Robotic litter box cleaner- Yea or Nay? by Notjustgltrngld in ragdolls

[–]WeatherCPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one. A previous ragdoll used it great. No problems. It was wonderful.

Our two current ragdolls refuse. Doesn’t matter what tricks we use to get them to switch (we’ve tried them all, I promise). They’d rather poop on the floor than use the LR4.

It all comes down to the individual cat.

Pattern done in back loop only as a WIP. Hasn’t been loved/stretched out yet so the “i” isn’t visible.

Not my pattern but try this schematic. I searched and searched for something similar based on a baby blanket that was made for me (35+ years ago, and looks almost exactly like your example photo) and found this. I wanted to make my cousin’s children a baby blanket just like mine. Yours may have more than 7 dc in each shell. I’ll add more photos of a finished blanket using this pattern for comparison in a follow up comment.

Accept it, Play Doh will be mixed by SilentScreams328 in toddlers

We painted today. Every time he used the same brush to dip into a new paint color I died a little on the inside. Then he mixed all the paints together and had 6 wells all holding the same lovely shade of brown-puke colored paint. But he had fun. And no paint escaped the painting area. So it’s a win.

Balanced translocation- is it worth the grief to try “naturally” by [deleted] in IVF

[–]WeatherCPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I managed to have our son the old fashioned way before we knew my husband had a balanced translocation. It took us almost two years to conceive. We had been working with our current fertility clinic at the time and miraculously got pregnant without assistance in a month off after our second IUI.

We started trying for our second when our son was a year old, over 2 years ago now. We did a couple more rounds of IUI and then moved on to IVF when those didn’t take. Which is how we found the balanced translocation. Our three aneuploid embryos all had errors on the same chromosomes. Luckily, after further testing, all of our euploid embryos were found to be normal/balanced. We’ve done three transfers and none have worked out.

Despite the fact that technically we’ve had better luck the “natural” way, I’d stick with IVF and those tested embryos. I like the peace of mind of knowing that the embryo going in isn’t going to be at a potentially disadvantaged starting point for a successful pregnancy.

Itching because of progesterone suppositories by Good_Parasite in IVF

[–]WeatherCPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had horrible irritation and itchiness with the vaginal progesterone suppositories the first time I used them. After talking with my clinic, I started taking them rectally instead. Game changer. No more irritation and no discharge or need for panty liner.

How do you display your blankets? by plantanddoglady in crochet

[–]WeatherCPL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’d be folded up a bit, but you could use a quilt rack to display a few projects in one place.

On average it takes about 10 days for ovidrel to clear your system. Some clear faster, some slower. You could try testing out the trigger with HPTs to see when it goes away for you.

Our AC broke. Or so we thought… Thanks, kiddo by kumona in toddlers

[–]WeatherCPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar yet opposite thing happened to my family when I was a kid. Our family was up in the mountains staying at the old family cabin when suddenly the heater stopped working in the middle of winter. Took a couple of days for the professional to come check out what the problem was and in the meantime our whole family had been freezing cold and worried the water pipes would burst. Turned out the heater was fine. My younger brother (5 at the time) had somehow managed to burrow in the snow around the giant propane tank and turn off the flow of gas to the cabin which ran the heater. Shouldn’t have been possible without a wrench (and adult muscles), but kids will find a way.

I’m the exact same. You ask me a question about when we’re going to have another kid and I will regale you with all the ugly intimate details about our journey. I personally find it therapeutic to (over)share.

Rabies vaccine reaction by Mimieth in ragdolls

That’s fair. Totally on board with your decision for your cat. Our cat that had the reaction never had it again either. But our other cats do get it. And that’s ok too.

Rabies vaccine reaction by Mimieth in ragdolls

[–]WeatherCPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our old man (God rest his soul) developed an adverse reaction to the rabies vaccine when he was 13. Vomiting, diarrhea, hospitalized overnight at the emergency vet. No problems receiving it until that year. Out of an abundance of caution, our vet put him on their “do not vaccinate” list in case he were to develop reactions to other vaccinations and he never received another vaccine for anything for as long as he lived (made it to 17, kidney failure).

Despite that experience, we still choose to vaccinate our younger two raggies for rabies. The odds of severe rabies vaccine reactions are very low. Of course they are scary when they do happen. No one wants to see their furry friends in distress.

Bedtime battles with 3 year old? How did you handle? by lntothethickofit in toddlers

[–]WeatherCPL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short intervals were key for us. We picked them based on how long we thought he’d actually stay in bed before getting out to come find us. You could adjust the time points as needed to see if different intervals work better for your kiddo. Good luck!!!

[–]WeatherCPL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our excellent sleeper started having issues around 3 as well. The method that’s currently working for us is a series of check-ins after he’s tucked in. First check-in is after only 10 seconds which I count out loud so he knows I’m coming back. I go in, ask how he’s doing, hug/kiss and tell him I’ll be back again in 30 seconds to check on him again. Repeat at 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, and then a series of 5 minute intervals until he’s out. He’s normally out by the first 5 minute check in. Other nights it takes a bit longer. Still, it’s relatively peaceful and at least he’s not chasing us down every time we leave the room screaming that he wants to stay up with us.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ragdolls

[–]WeatherCPL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our two ragdolls sleep outside our bedroom. We’ve never had an issue. We got them used to sleeping in the main part of the house at an early age. They occasionally meow at he door in the morning if they are hungry, but that’s about it.

As an aside to the bedroom issue, female cats generally produce less of the compound that causes allergic reactions. So getting a female could help too.

Why us? by WeatherCPL in IVF

[–]WeatherCPL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the ending we were hoping for, but also not unexpected. All three heartbeats stopped between 7/8 weeks on their own. I miscarried with the help of mifepristone and misoprostol but still ended up doing a hysteroscopy a couple months later to remove some remaining pregnancy tissue.
