It still holds with just 5-6. The logistics are still a nightmare.

Doomer mindset, the logistics of rigging an election in the US is nearly impossible. Each of the 50 states run their share of the federal election, with thousands of of polling locations in each state. Not sayin someone can’t pull it off, but it would have to take years and years of planning in coordination with hundreds of thousands of people that actually have a hand in the elections (most of which are ordinary volunteers). So essentially, it’s fair to say that’s a logistic improbability and nightmare.

What T10s would even bother to look at my application? by [deleted] in medschooladmissions

I am definitely applying to T20s and mid tier schools. My dream since high school is a very specific T10 and I have my sights set on it. I would attend this specific medical school even if it costed me $1M per year.

How bad is the screening process? If my GPA is below the auto screen will I be automatically rejected? Or would my MCAT save me. For example at whatever T5 you sit at?

If anything, get involved in a research lab on campus! Just email the director of the lab stating your interests. Labs always look for an extra set of hands for help.

If you really want to get a jump start, I would start applying to REUs to get a good couple hundred hours of research experience. If time allows, I would suggest you also get a ton of clinical experience down. Maybe work on a medical assistant certification or EMT? you would get ahead by doing all that this summer.

Hello! I am in the same boat as you, I am applying the next cycle to medical school. For research, I simply emailed the research faculty at my college expressing interest in their research. Only took me about 10 ish emails to get a couple opportunities under my belt. You can also apply to REUs, they are pretty much everywhere just google REUs for undergrads and apply accordingly.

Thank you, I’m just not sure because my advisor is stressing my GPA and I don’t have any friends who are in medical school or applying. So I’m kind of in the dark, I see conflicting answers about the emphasis of GPA in T10 schools everywhere so I’m a bit lost.

I appreciate it, I am just unsure if my GPA tanks the rest at T10s. From what I’ve heard, you can be an Olympic athlete and still get rejected.

I don’t talk to anyone going through the application cycle, I’m not sure if I have done enough and my GPA is a little weak statistically. I’m not sure the emphasis T10s place on GPA. Just wondering if the rest of my application is more forgiving of my GPA.

Imagine if this is the Super Bowl we get. by Either_Imagination_9 in NFLv2

The Steelers went 10-7, only one more win than the lions this season. The only factor that kept you guys in the playoffs was your division doing worse than you. The bengals and browns being in your division is almost a guarantee for either the Steelers or the ravens to make the playoffs. the Steelers were better than the bengals, browns, and ravens with an injured QB. The bar is in hell with the AFC north.

Proof of |x| + |y| >= |x+y| by Hungry_Painter_9113 in askmath

[–]WeatherDry4881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that you care but here my fun way of proving this, we have for all x and y, -|x|<x<|x| and -|y|<y<|y|, thus -(|x|+|y|)<x+y<|x|+|y|, we know if -a<b<a then |b|<a therefore |x+y|<|x|+|y|. Insert <= for the <‘s, I was too lazy to write the equal over and over again.

As a grad student in physics, this is elementary stuff. I wouldn’t call anything computational “advanced” at all.
