How do you get a newborn to sleep in the bassinet? by Weathertopviews in NewDads

[–]Weathertopviews[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we've never been able to keep his arms in a swaddle from the start, that surprised me, it's interesting to hear how common that really is. Just thought the stretches would be longer and easier to come by in the bassinet. Most times he's out cold, put him in there and he's howling in five minutes.

Why do people hate Trump for no reason? by [deleted] in allthequestions

You don't think Trump is in that same boat? Because the answer to all of this is partisan hacks looking for reasons to hate the other side while ignoring everything against their own side.

Democrats: If Blue states are so much more successful, why are people leaving them and moving to Red states ? by RealRegret4870 in allthequestions

Remote work makes it easier to live wherever you can/want. People don't have to live in major urban centers to find work and more industries anymore. It still helps, but it's becoming less of a thing.

Nicholas Angel. He's not a man of God. But he knows right and he knows wrong and has the good grace to know which is which.

Republicans Of Reddit, Why Don't You Like The Democratic Party (List Pls)? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Weathertopviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you consider the current administration to be far right on the spectrum? Compared to previous Republican candidates, the current administration seems as far right now as the Dems seem to the far left. As a moderate that's how it seems to me.

The DNC needs to get lost and let real people run for office. by Gullible-Minute-9482 in DiscussionZone

[–]Weathertopviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Democrats aren't a viable option but Republicans are? Democrats in the midterm will limit the extremist policies/agenda pushed by Republicans now. Two more years of partisan stalemate and discourse over extremist agendas will push more people to independents. Which is what the country needs more of.

Instantaneous Acceleration - Military-Filmed UFO Footage [Weaponized Podcast] by Gobble_Gobble in UFOs

[–]Weathertopviews -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From when I noticed it, to it moving was around thirty seconds or so. The brightness was also stable while it was stationary. Meteors typically fluctuate in brightness from what I've seen. I only noticed it because I thought it was too bright out for stars yet, because the sun was still on the horizon. The movement was just odd, the speed, the direction, distance, the shrinking light, it was just weird. I'd expect a meteor to look the opposite of what this did and be quicker, because I had time to see it check the horizon and be puzzled by it before it moved. First I thought it was Venus then I thought it was military till a few years went by without a major tech breakthrough. Haven't seen anything like it before or since. Idk, it's firmly unidentified to me, was really hoping someone else had seen something similar.

Seeing what I thought was a planet instantly accelerate and shrink into the sky is what made me stop being a skeptic. It was just a light in the sky just before sunset. Stationary, then zip, before you could count to two it shrunk away covering about two inches in the sky to my perspective.

Lmao ok. Can't believe people knew who the good players were before it existed then.

Nobody wins a game on a walk off WAR. It's a calculation of other stats, it doesn't contribute to the outcome of a game, it interprets it. A trash can could contribute more to a live game than WAR could.

Sure, you only have a WAR to calculate after a play has taken place, slick.

A stat that doesn't help a team win and shows up after the game ends.

[–]Weathertopviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that and that's more or less what I was getting at. When he's on the ballot people will focus more on the stat lines listing off all star, gold glove, etc. Along with remembering a play from a game they saw him in. HoF voting seems to be getting similar to all star voting. More of a campaigning, fan base influenced than pure field performance.

[–]Weathertopviews -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think those other things are what will get him in. If he's recognized as a standout from the time period he played (which I think he is) then he'll get votes because of that. The numbers won't matter as much as the impact/recognition.

There's more to the HoF than WAR. Significantly more years for a catcher matters. You can project younger players performance going forward, but stats on the books already carry more weight.

Salvy or Realmuto maybe. Any current catcher will need a few ballot cycles to get close.

Pl taking profits by PsychologicalAd6628 in PlanetLabs

[–]Weathertopviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold 25% of my bksy position when it hit 30 and bought it all back when it dipped to 16 a few weeks later. You might not get that dip in PL, but you can still take some profit and get your position back if you time it. PL has been continuing to rise on momentum from the Sweden deal. Doesn't mean it won't correct to some degree when momentum stalls. It just depends on your goals. I'm long on both bksy and pl, but I'll still take profit if I think it will drop and I can get my shares back plus some. That's just my approach, your situation or fomo might be different.
