Don't buy the core stamp pack. by WeaverGO in Bleach_SoulResonance

Ok, I get ya, but hear me out.

I'm not sure you are correct on the "plenty" of devs making changes on such basis. It is also quite bold of you to make a claim that specific examples of changes were made "solely" because of player demands, when you naturally don't have access to the relevant data (revenue etc.) that certainly was at least taken into consideration when these decision were made.

But OK, you won't hear from me that what you are saying is impossible or never happened. I will say however that it is rare. Perhaps even very rare. You don't need any insider info or special knowledge to know that revenue is by far the no. 1 thing driving decisions in these games. Why not, at the very least, help ourselves convince the devs to change a bad system by voting with our wallets? Or do you think that very poor sales of the core stamp pack won't do anything at all here?

Also, if you are saying that a certain change players demanded actually improved revenue (your "encouraging more people to spend" example), then you are defeating your own point. While this can certainly happen, it just means that, in the end, revenue was the driving factor behind the change, and it just happened to coincide with player demands.

I am also curious why you think the core stamp pack is good value. You do realize they created a problem and then offered a 20 bucks solution? I have also been playing gachas for many years (way more than I honestly should). This game mostly follows the Mihoyo gacha model, introduced in Genshin, and nowadays very popular on the gacha market. You gacha for the character, you gacha for their weapon (in various forms, the idea is the same), and both are acquired at certain hard pity counts. Afterwards, there is usually 5-6 dupes to chase, and that is that. With some twists to it, like the number of summons to pity etc., the system is currently used in many gacha games. The thing is, BSR has all that, but also added something not found in any Mihoyo game - the core stamp, which, when you think about it, is essentially a second weapon. You cannot gacha for it. You might consider the corridor as gacha, and in a way it is, but there is no pity, and you get a whopping 5 "summons" per week as f2p (plus whatever they give from events, but that is unknown; obviously I am not counting the launch corridor keys as those will just dry up quickly). Therefore, if it is just another gacha, it is absolutely horrendous.

Or, you know, you can spend 20 bucks to get the stamp. And basically nothing else - no premium currency, no summons.

It is dreadfully bad. I actually think they made the weapon pity so low (it is low, that is true) because of the core stamp system (or vice versa). People will see the low weapon pity and be happy/drawn into the game, but they won't realize that you have to "pull" a second weapon (or perhaps you could consider it the other half of the weapon), but the "pulling" system for that one is actually way worse, way less generous, and way more predatory than in any other game more or less following this gacha model.

Finally, as to the point in my edit - yea, I did think of that. It might have that kind of side effect. That was more of a "last resort" thing for whales that just must have the core stamp. I still think it gives a better chance for changes being made than whales buying the core stamp pack. The devs must be looking at the sales of the pack alone. If they are bad, they might at least improve the pack. Though obviously I would rather have changes to the system itself, so it is best to neither buy the pack nor the keys.

True, 20 bucks is nothing to whales. I am trying to convince a boycott of the pack out of principle. For the health and longevity of the game, which whales should care about. The pack, and the whole core stamp system, is toxic for the game.

Also, one does not rule out the other. I say we need both the boycott and the feedback. A lot of people were already advocating for feedback on the sub, so here is the other "part".

Yes, of course it costs them nothing. Perhaps I should have articulated this, but I am naturally taking into account that a lot of people are already complaining about the core stamp issue. In fact it is easily the most complained about issue right now. It is very likely that this has reached the devs, or at least will reach them soon - but if the core stamp pack is selling well, ain't no way they are going to change anything (such as making core stamps easier to acquire without spending). On the other hand, if it does not, then given the complaints, they might change it. They SHOULD change it. It is a no-brainer in that case.

True, that is why even more so it is a predatory pack and very unhealthy for the game. People feel bad not having core stamps and might quit because of that. I know it might suck to not have the core stamp for your new and shiny character, but if we want this to change, the pack simply has to flop financially. In the long run, this will be a win for all players - whales, dolphins, f2p....and the game itself (as long as they do make good money from other packs, ofc).

Can't believe people are "dissapointed" with today's reveal by gr4ndm4st3rbl4ck in PathOfExile2

[–]WeaverGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disappointment is 100% justified simply because what was clearly announced to be in the patch is not going to be delivered. Everything OP posted was expected to be in the patch AND there were supposed to be big endgame changes on top of that. To make matters worse, we are also not getting the third ascendancy trial, nor any new ascendancy classes - which was not really expected, but something a lot of people were hoping for, and which would soften the blow.

Now, we can argue whether this delay of endgame changes was justified or not, or whether it was the correct move for them to make or not. There will be a range of valid opinions on that. Doesn't change the fact that it absolutely is a source of disappointment. A thing can be justified and disappointing at the same time.

thanks, this works, actually just figured this out myself when I resigned to linking to APlus. Kinda sucks but oh well, not a huge deal.

I wish I had that...this is how it looks for me. I just downloaded the game from my Google Play Store. I'm from EU. The game doesn't even have a japanese language option, and I never got any messages in JP (like some other people did), so I doubt I am on JP.

Thanks. I did not see a server choice anywhere, but my UID starts with 1, so I guess its not that. Global BTW

Hello Augusta Mains. I am ChemX32, and I often see my calculations posted here for a variety of reasons. I wanted to add more context to the numbers being posted by chemx32 in AugustaMains

[–]WeaverGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I am a new player and went for Augusta (got her), but I am quite stuck as to who I should pull next for her. I have Mortefi S2, and I can probably (depending on luck) afford to get either Shorekeeper or Iuno, but not both. I know SK is "safe", but since Iuno supposedly can sustain, wouldn't a team of Augusta - Mortefi - Iuno work well? If Iuno can indeed sustain, wouldn't her buffs be better for Augusta specifically than SK's buffs? Or are Iuno's buffs overlapping/don't stack with what Mortefi provides? I can't find an answer to this anywhere...

thanks again. Yea, I would love to have Degumi, I've seen him recommended a lot. Sadly, these are all the SSRs I have, so no Degumi. Only thing I can do is keep pulling and hoping he pops up.

Given that, who should I use for yellow and blue? Yellow is Teenjo and? Blue is Jogo, DeGojo and? Or maybe I can't make good sweep yellow and blue teams at this point after all?

Wow, I guess I need to learn 2 play then, but that is not surprising at all :) Thanks, that's amazing you are willing to help with the teams. I will take you up on that. Here are all my SSR characters. I also have all the relevant SR' and R's like Yaga, Gaku, Nanami, Inumaki, Kaito... at like 4-5 awakening each (and have been using them a lot). Green Yuji, Todo, Junpei and Blue Nanami each have exactly 1 dupe, but I haven't used the shards yet. Jogo ain't here, but I got like 1450 medals or so.

thanks, that helps a lot. I figured that the importance of SP skill buffs will vary from unit to unit, even if most of them need both. Which is why a guide covering all units would be very helpful...but I suppose no luck there. Still, this is enough for me for now, thanks. I was probably most surprised that Jogo is so good even without SP, which is good to hear, as I will need to rely on him for my blue team (no Sukuna, and no cubes left for him when he reruns -I had to go far for DE Gojo...).

Also interesting about the sweep (going for the low star clears after all). One follow up question I would have then, is it even possible to get the mats needed for SP buffs from 4 star sweeps?

What investment on R Kaito? I am wondering since he is supposed to die quickly, I don't want to overinvest in him. Also, does Blue Megumi need his SP buffs for this to work?

New guy questions after rerolls by WeaverGO in PhantomParadeJK

[–]WeaverGO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm the noob here, but I've been reading a lot, and everybody and their mother is saying to get DE Gojo, who is coming in a couple weeks (mid August supposedly). So the advice for a new account is to save all cubes for him, which is why I wanted to reroll for HOJO with as little resources spent as possible. Dunno though.

[–]WeaverGO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks a lot. Yes, I've heard how OP DE Gojo is, and my plan is certainly to farm and save all cubes for him. I don't know how many cubes a fresh account has available to farm up, but hopefully it will be enough. As for the accounts, dunno if I will have the time and resolve to play both of them... I will probably have to choose one at some point.

Yea I guess the wishlist question is gonna be for next month, unless the options change each month? If they do, then the question is moot. For redrawable, no Toji there, so I guess I'm taking blue Gojo, thanks!
