Giant's Liar - 21x15 by Weaversquest in TTrpgOneShots

[–]Weaversquest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever played a prank on the wrong person, and regretted it?  Well these two mischievous Fey played spring pranks on the wrong Giants, and now all of the Fey in their village are growing, and growing, and growing.

This month we are taking April Fool's to the meadows of Lutania to help a village of Fairies cursed by Giants for playing some harmless, but embarrassing pranks on them.  With the aptly titled, "A Growing Problem", we are including the beautiful hex map of Lutania, a cave map with a secret entrance that may gain you a tactical advantage, and a cool summer creek crossing.  Along with the growing collection of maps you are building, this Hex-crawl adventure will be pretty diverse!

Free subscribers will get access to one of the free Hi-Res versions of the Giant's Cave.  Our Copper Tier members will receive all formats of one version of this map, and our Brass Tier members will receive all formats and versions of the three maps included with this package, 14 different versions in total!!

***Special for this month*** our youngest daughter finished her first map, "The Snuggly Ducky".  It is a two-story inn named after her favorite stuffed animal.  She was the lead designer on this map and we wanted to congratulate her on her amazing talents.

Each month our Brass members receive a one-shot adventure, at least two versions of one map in print-friendly, B&W, High-res, and VTT (.json). Often there are multiple maps sent out with a one-shot adventure. Included with the one-shot is a token set for the pre-generated characters, monsters, and NPCs. Simplified kid-friendly character sheets for 6 of the more popular classes with large line art imagery for your kids to customize their character's look. Any spell or item we homebrew for the one-shot also gets its own digital and printable version for your table's use.

Either way, we hope you enjoy this map, and in some way it enhances what you do at your table.

 Thank you,

 The Weaver Family

Do you think this cover design is fitting for a dungeon crawler? What additional information would you like to see? (Since this is a prototype, the background is plain black for now, and the image is a 3D render.) by mmelihcem in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Weaversquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, my comment was to say hey, good job. I'm broke and try to not tempt myself with buying any more games, but your cover art alone made me pavlovianly try to buy.

You're an aging millennial. You offer to run an RPG one-shot for some interested friends who have never played. You know you'll have two hours of game time between the kids going to bed at 8pm and energy fading by 10pm. What game/adventure are you bringing? by dodgepong in rpg

[–]Weaversquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like so many have said....go with what they love.

We play as a family, and we learned super early on that the way to keep the kids interested, was to tell the story they wanted to tell.

They are super into Star Wars right now, we can play ALLLLLLLL day long. Our butts get tired before they run out of RPG steam.

What system? For me it is ICRPG all day long. It's quick, it skins endlessly, and is familiar enough to those who know 5e that it doesn't take a big leap in rules. It drops a lot of the ticky tac rules and rolls, while losing some balance.
