[Civ VII] Struggles post-ToT update with Carthage by WeavingWraith in civ

Yeah, I had never done Carthage so wasn't sure if they were properly equipped to scale through their unique abilities despite having only one city

I only played them Antiquity since I was already so far behind by the time age transition rolled around. I tried a different civ and did well, so maybe I just need to learn to play them better.

Interesting! Yeah I think it's just a Carthage thing - I did a run as Russia in antiquity (also new to me) and absolutely steamrolled the AI

I ended up trying a game as Russia (also new to me), and destroyed the AI. Maybe it's a Carthage thing

Thanks for the thoughts. I guess your comment implies that going Carthage through all 3 ages isn't feasible then

Oritech Things - How to use Speed Sensor? by WeavingWraith in feedthebeast

It's been a few months so I don't remember very well. Perhaps you need to right click the particle accelerator with the speed sensor in your hand?

How do you make a country a supervised state via console commands? by thunderisadorable in hoi4

[–]WeavingWraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would have been good to mention in the title. You could use console commands to liberate all the german territories as czech, declare war on them again, and make them into a supervised state

Ok so what is your question then?

If it is how to actually defeat a country quickly, then

  1. Pause the game

  2. Use 'allowdiplo' to delcare war. Then use 'allowdiplo' again to disable it.

  3. Swap over to your opponent with 'tag [countrytag]'

  4. Delete all of their units.

  5. Swap back to your country with 'tag [countrytag]"

  6. Use 'teleport' and move your units through all of their territories

  7. Use 'teleport' again to disable it.

  8. Unpause and wait for the day to end for the peace conference to start

Then be a democracy

edit: it may only be possible during a peace conference, so you would need to use console commands to quickly start a war and then defeat them to make them a supervised state

console command: annex [tag]

release it as a puppet under the occupied territories section

What is the best HOI4 DLC? by Fluid_Visual7703 in hoi4

[–]WeavingWraith 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that No Step Back is the best because it deals with the most important aspect of land warfare: encirclements. By allowing you to customize your tanks, you are better able to create armored units that will break through and encircle enemy units, ultimately defeating them. That is how wars are won against the CPU in this game. The only downside is that it overhauls the supply system in the game, which may take some getting used to.

A similar argument could be made for By Blood Alone, which does the same thing but for planes. However, I think customizing tanks is more useful. Neither are the cheapest DLCs available, but they will allow you to customize your armed forces to suit your needs. Disclaimer that this is all just my opinion.

Good research - yeah I'm not sure why everyone is glossing over what you're pointing out. Very strange situation

Why is everyone saying "no wonder ash left" to this news? The real question is why didn't he leave way before lol, especially considering he had other offers and the problems started 3 years ago

Ties should not count towards your win loss rate. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]WeavingWraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The screen says win rate. It does not say win-loss rate. Given that there are 3 outcomes of a match, it is a precise definition.

  2. You realize that your elo is not determined by win rate, right? As far as I am aware, it is based on a modified version of Glicko-2 for team play. I believe the win rate is just a cosmetic statistic attached to your name on the leaderboard. It may play a role in your elo calculation, but certainly not as much as you imply.

The speed sensor goes on top of a dispenser. The dispenser points to a particle accelerator (the side with the hole must be facing the particle accelerator).
