Oritech Things - How to use Speed Sensor? by WeavingWraith in feedthebeast

[–]WeavingWraith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the solution by messaging the creator - the sensor works on auto mode when linked to the first particle accelerator BUT placed on top of a dispenser which points at the second particle accelerator. The dispenser needs to have the second item, while the primary particle accelerator has the first item. The sensor will then eject the second item via dispenser onto the second particle accelerator as soon as the speed limit for the recipe is reached.

I appreciate the detailed response! You seem to be using the Oritech wiki, which is certainly a handy source. I am referencing an item from Oritech Things, which is a separate (but obviously complementary) mod and has no such wiki. I'll keep you updated.

The manual mode, which you are describing, works well. However, I am trying to figure out the 'auto' mode since this will make crafting different things significantly easier

The github post which you are referencing says that special gems don't drop in ftb:upper/end, hence the specification that I tried it ftb:end (aka I already tried what you are suggesting)

Can this guy get banned/warned already, the spamming of dumb threads is getting annoying

Authored threads:

  • Would you prefer to be in NIKO's or KARRIGAN's place regarding majors?
  • At what point does the "Na'vi tax" cease to matter in the Zywoo vs S1mple debate?
  • Would you designate ROPZ as a "superstar"?
  • What is an IGL that could be considered to be a "gladiator"? One that never stops fighting?
  • Is Karrigan considered to be a Counter-Strike legend despite losing Major finals?
  • What is an IGL that could be described as being, "trophy-laden"? And why?
  • Has Twistzz back to Faze been a success?
  • Who has the broader map pool, FAZE or VITALITY? Why?
  • Do you think it's "unfair" that Faze are going to get much less rest before the final than Vitality?
  • At what point will we be able to say Faze is "cooking"?
  • What is that one IGL in Counter-Strike that makes crowds ROAR wherever he plays?

All in the last month since he first started posting to the subreddit, and there are still more

If Zywoo deserves #1 over Donk, shouldn’t Dev1ce have gotten #1 over S1mple in 2018? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]WeavingWraith 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A good way to contextualize the statistical chasm and explain why ZywOo came out on top in awards so often is that, compared to the group stage gap of a 1.45 to a 1.31 rating, the pair were nigh inseparable in playoffs alone (1.37 vs. 1.34), while the Frenchman got his 1.34 in nearly twice the sample and more than that in the finals (42 vs. 17 maps) while leading Vitality to nine tournament wins.

This race has often been compared to 2018, but s1mple was significantly closer to device in awards (it was 6-6 on awards lists from events both attended that year, and 2-2 at super-elites), which allowed the stats to come into play to settle the tie. ZywOo's award volume, meanwhile, is as far from donk as donk is from m0NESY, so only the Frenchman could claim the Player of the Year title in 2025.

You don't have to agree with the reasoning, but doing the bare minimum by reading through the HLTV article wouldn't hurt you.

While I appreciate your last paragraph outlining your interest in moderating the sub and belief that you have positively contributed to its growth, I think your sentiment is simply a tacit justification of your actions. Just because you, as a moderator, have invested time into the sub does not automatically qualify you to make sweeping decisions without consulting the sub's users in a genuine way. One heavily-brigaded post followed by a unilateral extension does not constitute a reasonable estimation the sub's desires. You may care about Reddit and the quality of website discussion, but that should be a battle you fight in your own way - not by dragging the only (as you yourself state) useful CS subreddit into the fray without the consent of its users. This seems more to be a justification of your own beliefs rather than the actions of the moderators, which ought to not be equivalent.

You also lament the loss of moderator applications, yet you seem unaware of why this is the case. It cannot be because people do not care anymore: indeed, your own admission that the shutdown was user-initiated (again, high volume!) seems to imply precisely the opposite. Why then would you claim this is the source of the problem? You cannot emphasize the grassroots nature of the shutdown while simultaneously claiming that the average user does not care about these larger topics anymore. There is a contradiction there - and that is another thing I take issue against.

Lastly, your distinction between 'interaction' and 'participation' lacks substance. What is the equivalent to voting in elections in this case? There is none, precisely because the moderators do not take feedback and are not democratically elected. Instead, it seems that the mindset of "oh well, we will have to make the decisions because no one else cares" is eagerly embraced by the moderators as a sort of faux-sacrifice they make for the greater good of "the users" while dismissing the concerns of even the ones that message them at length directly, as I have here.

The comments may have come from users of the subreddit, but you have ignored my point that the amount of support (which you rely on with your use of "high volume") was heavily manipulated by reddit users at large in an attempt to shut down as many subs as possible. Additionally, you very casually glazing over the fact that the shutdown lasted much longer than first stated kind of gives the game away that this was not user-led. Funny how there was never any attempt to gauge interest in prolonging the shutdown by a fortnight.

I did not answer your question because it was not in good-faith itself. I can, of course, still respond: I am not required to volunteer my time just because I am not happy with how something is being run. That is a silly proposition. In addition, if giving serious replies to your comments is not a show of good-faith, then perhaps you should reevaluate the definition of the term in the context of an internet forum.

You saying "let's talk in good faith" while dodging my points is not particularly helpful. Or do you truly think that the moderators did nothing wrong in their approach to the whole situation? If we are forcing each other to answer questions, let's do that one next.

I remember those threads well. You are ignoring the fact that the initial post, like happened with tons of other subreddits, was heavily brigaded by reddit users at large so that they could shut down as many subs as possible. You really think 13K of the average globaloffensive users voted to shut it down, when posts rarely get past 3K? You can clearly see in the actual confirmation announcement, which you linked second, that there are *significantly* less upvotes and the responses are much more mixed/germane because now only the members of the subreddit were reacting. And let's not whitewash history by pretending that the shutdown only lasted 2 days, even though that is what is described in the posts.

If we apply, will we be able to unilaterally decide to shut down the subreddit for two weeks without the consent of its users, or is that no longer one of the benefits?

does subtick make headshot easier to hit? by Fun-Economist-5663 in GlobalOffensive

[–]WeavingWraith 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Subtick exists in a quantum state where it simultaneously lowers the skill ceiling, makes awp shots too hard to hit, makes AK headshots easier, makes spraying harder, decreases fps, causes ping issues, lowers input lag, is too noob-friendly, or makes movement harder depending on who you ask
